A Game that shouldn't be missed, a classic to anyone's game library.

User Rating: 9.4 | Resident Evil 4 PS2
The Resident evil series has been around for some time now and it takes guts to try something new, and they didn't disapoint.

Resident Evil 4 takes place in a eastern europe town and puts you in charge of trying to save the daughter of the president of the United States, not a easy task for one man and made harder by the fact that you have some crazy people to deal with. Let me break it down for you.

Graphics: Even after a few years Resident Evil on the ps2 looks great, and the setting and the mood are well done and you really feel like you are in the middle of nowhere and are in the overcast skies of europe. The textures and backround look great and some of the best I have seen on the ps2, some colours are washed ou and look dated a bit but nothing is to bad that you can notice that feels off from other versions of the game on other console. The game supports progressive scan mode by pressing X and triangle and also supports wide screeen for true widescreen. People are well done although a few of the people seem to be washed in the face a bit. Lighting and effects look great and everything feels like it should be where it is.

Sound: Sound is well done, not the best, but you always feel like the music is in the right place and the sound effects are done well so when you blow a head off you get the gushy sounds you should get, backround is also somewhat well done, I would have loved to see better backround VO, I found that alot of the village people and monsters said the same thing and a few extra recordings would have been nice, but overall no major complaints.

Gameplay: Gameplay is very fun, and the story is well done, some parts of the story can seem confusing and I sometimes feel that a few points should have been added to explain where you are going and why. the intro to fire works well for a manual fire game and works well although i would have liked to see right trigger 1 and square as the fire instead of x but after a while its fine. I have one major complaint, the game has stores, that you can buy guns and other things but you can't buy ammo, even when some areas where you can buy things from have backround ammo just on the table, that I found really bad since I can see the ammo but they must be for display only, I don't know why they went that way. At times the gameplay can get hard, if you don't have a grenade and brang the wrong gun to the fight. but overall the game is done well and is fun to play, although I would have liked to see better overall controls and A.I. act better.

Overall this is a solid game that every person should play at least once, and if you dont want to own it at least rent it, but since it's 20 bucks at stores now its a game that should be picked up for any game collection.
