- "Masterpiece"
Resident Evil 4 is just fun. Fun. So fun that it's one of the few games that I can play several times over and rarely get bored with.
Gameplay: 10/10
No fixed camera angles, no zombies, an Atache Case, and more ammo. Free roaming as well. It's game engine isn't like the other RE titles. While those games are great, I think this sort of gameplay is more fun and more mainstream. So it was a great choice CAPCOM made. Who cares if there aren't any zombies? What we get are people and various types of creatures that are infested with an ancient parasite called Los Plagas. So what we get for enemies are much more intelligent, faster, and cleaner than the zombies from the traditional RE games. It would have been too easy if there was zombies anyway. You could shoot them down before they even got two feet from you. Unless they were all crimson heads. (Oh boy, the thought of a village full of crimson heads makes my heart race a bit. :0 )
Like I said, there is plenty of ammo here. If you're smart about it, and look everywhere, you'll most likely never find yourself running out of ammo for all of your weapons. So no need to worry about that. And there is plenty of space to fit all of your artillery and herbs, because instead of having a limited amount of slots to fit items in, you have an Atache Case (which get's bigger if you pay up some dough. I'll get to that in a bit). So you can carry several items, as long as they fit in the case. Much prefered than only being able to carry six to eight items. Also, treasures you find have a different way of being carried, and they're aren't any limits to how much you can hold.
There is also a merchant with that you can buy weapons and sell treasures with. He makes the game complete, and is a lovable guy.
Here are some other distinguishing features about the game:
*No ink ribbons needed to save.
*Less puzzles and more of a focus on action.
*A fun mini-game called Mercenaries where you can play as five different characters.
*Two Ada related games.
*No multi-player, but at least it's fun to watch someone else play it.
*Not as scary
Controls: 9/10
The controls are perfected with the Wiimote and nunchuck. It's easy to aim, movie, and pick things up. If you want to play with the classic controller, it may take some getting use to.
Music: 8/10
There isn't much distinguishable music in the game. But all of it is great sounding and fits the mood of each area very well.
Graphics: 8.5/10
The graphics were beautiful for there time, and still are. But why they aren't enhanced at all on a system capable of better graphics is odd.
This is a masterpiece, and most who have played it will remember it fondly with great memories. Buy this if you already haven't. Get this version if you have a Wii. It's the best one.
