It's got me excited all over again

I played the demo for this a couple weeks ago, and I was blown away. What was shown has lived up to the hype surrounding it--this will be a wholly new experience for RE fans, and it gets me excited about the game and even the future of the series itself. *begins Storyteller Mode* The demo starts you off on the outskirts of a village somewhere in Europe (presumably in Spain, since the villagers spout Spanish between their gibberish). Your character, Leon Kennedy, the only living member of the Raccoon Police Department and one of the few survivors of the Raccoon City incident, steps out of a car and out onto the yellowed grass. Armed only with a pistol with a laser sight and carrying a herb or two, Leon makes his way to a wooden cabin just off the path to the village proper. He enters, and speaks to the only resident, a grizzled-looking man who is busily tending a fire. The man curses at Leon in Spanish, and then turns away. Leon shrugs and starts to leave--and is nearly cleaved by the villager's ax. Leon is forced to take the man down, shooting the ax out of his hand first, then pumping a couple rounds into the man's face. Once he's down, he checks the body, and remarks that it "isn't a zombie..." Suddenly, he hears pounding on the door, and more curses. Someone heard him kill the man, and now they want in. Panicked, he rushes upstairs--grabbing a box of ammo on his way up--and finds himself at a dead-end. Frowning, heart pumping as he hears the door downstairs break open and the curses get closer, he rushes back down to the landing, takes a deep breath, and jumps out the window. He hits the ground at a roll, and quickly gets to his feet. Turning around, he sees several more villagers--armed with pitchforks, axes, scythes and sickles--glaring at him from beneath the cabin's awning. They charge him, and Leon takes them down, shooting them in their kneecaps, sending them tumbling to the ground, weapons falling from their hands. He rushes away, up the path and over to the main village. Once he's reached the edge of the village, he scopes out the area with a pair of binoculars, observing the villagers as they go about their lives, taking care of the cow and the chickens, pitching hay, and just roaming about the town. Leon's hope of getting information to aid in his mission rises, and he steps into town. The villagers see him--and in an instant, their whole demeanor changes. They yell in gibberish, point accusing fingers at you, and close in, wielding their primitive farm weapons and sneering. Leon, startled, backs up--and realizes that nearly twelve villagers have surrounded him, and are raising their weapons to attack. Desperate to escape, he shoots down one of the villagers, pushes his way out of the cluster of crazed Europeans, and rushes into one of the houses, slamming the door behind him. The villagers cluster around the door, and then one of them starts giving orders. Ladders are brought to the house, and a man wearing a burlap sack on his head and wielding a gas-powered chainsaw is brought to the door, which he starts to hack through with silent determination. Leon, sees all this through a crack in the planks. He quickly shoves a heavy bookcase against the door, and rushes upstairs, looking for a way out. Halfway up the stairs he hears the sound of shattering glass somewhere ahead. He goes upstairs, and finds that the villagers have erected a ladder against the building, and the top of it punched through the glass. Leon frantically goes over, looks down--and sees three villagers clawing their way up the ladder. Thinking quickly, he kicks the ladder down, sending them crashing down to the ground. Satisfied, but still well-aware of his predicament, he looks around the rest of the upper room for something, anything--and comes across two things: a shotgun, and two more villagers, pounding against the window, trying to get in. He grabs the shotgun, aims it at the window, the laser sight lined up to the chest of his would-be attackers, and blows them away, sending them flying across the roof. He hears the door break open downstairs, and the clunk of the ladder being re-raised. They are coming for him. Leon rushes over to the window, leaps out onto the roof, blows away a couple more villagers, and proceeds to kick down a couple more ladders that have been laid against the building. Soon he finds himself forced into a corner on the roof, crazed villagers piling out of a window to join him. He blows a couple away--and then sees the chainsaw-carrier approach. He delivers a single shotgun blast to his face, then jumps off the roof of the building, rushing towards another building, searching for shelter and weapons--and an end to this madness. --End Storyteller Mode-- Everything in that description can be done in real-time, and there are a bunch of things I didn't mention, like how you can leap over things that are in your way, kick open doors, shoot through doors, throw grenades, and kick your enemies away when their dazed. Additionally, the enemies drop items, which are vital to your survival, and they frequently throw their weapons at you when you're at a distance. Further, they've set booby traps outside the entrance to their village; those are only a mild annoyance in the demo, but will probably be a lot worse in the full game. Oh, and if you get into a tall building, like the clocktower, they'll toss Molotov Cocktails up at you until you come down. Frankly, I've never had so much fun and fought so hard to stay alive in a Resident Evil game. I think the description of the game came across as somewhat bland, but playing is just invigorating; the fight for survival has never been so frenzied. Anyway, just thought I'd share my experience and the info with you all. I'm really excited about this game, and I hope it lives up to my expectations. ^^
