Aaahhh Biohazard 2. What can one say. It was the the good old days of PS1 gaming. It was those days when you could play the real Resident Evil survival horror games, where zombies where slow, ammo was scarce, loading screens where done by you opening a door or walking the stairs and voice acting was atrocious.

The game's story takes off a couple of months after the end of the original, in good old cozy Raccoon City. The series introduces two new main characters for us this time around - Leon and Claire. How you play them is one of the biggest differences from the first game.
RE2 came with 2 discs, one disc for Leon and one for Claire. Disc A and B. Depending in wich order you played them the storyline and scenarios plays out a little different. For example, you can leave behind ammo or a weapon with char A and then have them to be picked up by char B. It may not seem like the biggest changes, but it was cool at the time and I absolutely loved the first time I played through the game with my second character only to see the how things would play out depending on my actions by my first characters run.

The feel and atmosphere was the biggest impression though. Ominous music scores that foreboads bad thing to happen and the moaning of zombies all around you. Encounters taking place in tight spots where you often have pleasure to blast their heads of with your shotgun. Everything done on pre-rendered backgrounds for your pleasure exclusively. Killing zombie cops in a eerie police station will never be done grander than in this game.
People today, used to todays RE games, playing this, will most likely wonder what the hell the fuss was about. Bad graphics, slow gameplay and key-hunting. But maybe it is the nostalgy talking when I say that this is the best RE game ever made. At least for me it is.
In 10-15 years from now todays youth will complain about games not having the feel and soul of the games from back when. It is a vicious cycle.

But whatever, just try the game out. You may just like it.
If you want a taste of old school survival horror this is the game to pick up!
