So much better than the first, but not truly the most incredible game
Red Steel 2 adopts the western setting and time as you play as an unnamed ninja/gun toating cowboy. The story begins with a first person view of this character being drug by a group of thugs on their ATV's, and I must admit it's pretty exciting and really brings you into the experience. However, there is not much story to really leave an impression. I found the story line and game very repetitive, it's literally go to this destination, talk to these characters, do a mission, rince and repeat throughout the whole game. The game also isnt very long at all and I think my first playthrough was maybe 5 to 6 hours at the absolute most. There is some replay value to it though as there some new abilities to unlock and plenty of goodies to collect. There's also some side missions to note.
I found the control to be awesome and the 1:1 ability of Wii Motion plus works really well and makes the game fun. It really makes you feel like a badass once you learn certain combo attacks like swinging your sword in the air to flip your enemy up and then you can shoot them as they slowly fall to the ground. There is also plenty of destructible objects that will reward you with tons of money that you can then use to upgrade your weapons, buy new weapons and learn new abilities.
Like I said earlier Im a fan of cel shaded graphics and I found this game very pleasing to the eye, its nice and colorful and adds an almost comic book feel to this particular game.
If you're looking for and fun yet short colorful nice looking game dont pass this up, there are some downfalls such as the repetitiveness and shortness but it is fun to swing that wiimote and feel awesome doing it.
