Hopeless

In one of the lamest excuses for fighting on your own, Buka have invented a time machine and placed it in the hands of the Russian military, who exploit it to send a single helicopter back to certain hot spots in the days of the great war. This concept is then shaped into a number of rather samey fast-paced missions were you buzz around a map and blast 1940's tanks and lorries, often trying to protect some Soviet assets nearby.

The controls are fine if a bit puzzling at first, expect to get a good bashing since the enemy has little trouble shooting you down. The landscape is very decorative with the much talked about thousands of individual trees covering the hills and valleys. Switch on the external views and you'd be forgiven for thinking you were in a heli-mod for Lock On! or Strike Fighters, your Kamov helicopter is simply gorgeous to behold. A great shame then, that it had to be plopped into this mediocre shooter.
