Lots to love, and lots to hate

So this game has some cool stuff going for it. The tech involved is definitely impressive, as this is i believe the first game to ever have real destructible environments instead of replacing existing objects with a blown up model when destroyed.

Its got an open style gta kind of map and multiple zones which i enjoy as well, and i personally like the vehicles and fighting machines. My one buddies complaint about this game was the fact that it included too many modified mining weapons, but so far i only have a handful, and they arent the most effective aside from your melee weapon (hammer) and the remote satchel charges which are very realistic considering the setting (a mining colony). Theres is almost too much ordnance tho, im only in the 2nd and 3rd zones, and i have enough hardware on me to blow a hole in the world.

The main thing that bugs me is the fact that theres a delay between when you can give actions. Hell it takes the stupid interface about 5 seconds to realize you are no longer midway through the previous action before it responds to commands. Ive had times where ive hit the same command 9 and 10 times with no action taken on the games behalf whatsoever.

The vehicle physics are also downright ridiculous. Ive hopped in a car where i went 5 feet and next thing i know a tiny bump and im 50 ft in the air. It also drives like responds differently at different speeds and i think the interface has difficulty with this. Sometimes your holding down the turn command and very little happens, other times you tap it and your doing 180' turns or worse.

Previous problems aside and its pretty solid, about the only other problem i have is that sometimes the ai can spawn a huge army right next to you, and on extended missions where the ai is alerted can turn into something from the blues brothers with hundreds of cars chasing you.

Overall i think it deserves a C rating. My buddies who mostly like anything cant stand it tho, and my one buddy that hates every other game loves it. Im right down the middle, its a good game with a bunch of bs thrown in. It still angers me to the point of yelling obscenities at the screen, but somehow i keep coming back.
