Red Faction: Guerrilla is a entertaining open world sci-fi shooter with almost 100% destructible environments.

User Rating: 8.5 | Red Faction: Guerrilla X360
Plot: You play as Alec Mason, a man from Earth whose goal is to start a new life on Mars until finding out your brother was part of a group called the Red Faction and is killed by the EDF. Now, your goal is to defeat the EDF and help the Red Faction liberate Mars. Setting: You are on Mars attempting to liberate 6 sectors: Parker, Dust, Badlands, Oasis, the Free Fire Zone, and EOS. Gameplay: After your brother is killed from the EDF (Earth Defence Force), you join the Red Faction and the game begins. You start out with a simple sledgehammer and remote charges for weapons, but they are probably more fun to play with then some of the other weapons. The game has almost 100% destructible environment so it's entertaining to destroy entire buildings with just your sledgehammer. As you go through the game, you collect salvage which is basically like gold on Mars (as said in the game). As you collect salvage you will be able to purchase new weapons and upgrades. Some upgrades for example would be more ammo or being able to throw more remote charges before having to detonate them. You are able to hold 4 weapons at a time. One is permanently your sledgehammer. You have two meters in the game. One is for EDF control of a certain sector and the other is your guerrilla support meter for the sector you are in. As you destroy important EDF buildings or complete missions, the EDF meter will decrease while your guerilla support will increase. There are also side missions called "Guerrilla Actions" that will also do this. As your guerrilla support increases, more people will come to your aid when you are retreating or attempting to destroy something. The multiplayer is pretty fun. It has one mode called Wrecking Crew, which is a single console multiplayer game. The goal of wrecking crew is to create as much damage as you can in a certain amount of time. Wrecking crew has four modes: Total Chaos where you have 60 seconds and unlimited ammo, Escalation where you have limited ammo, Barrel Dash where you attempt to blow up as many blue and red barrels as you can in 60 seconds, and Rampage where you get 3 minutes but every time you use ammo or your jetpack time decreases by 10 seconds. You can also just play regular multiplayer with plenty of maps to play on. The game uses a 3rd person, over-the-shoulder view (like Gears of War). The controls are easy. The game may get repetitive, but with the destructible environments, I don't think you will have to worry about getting bored. The graphics are pretty good and sound is amazing. You won't be disappointed. Overall Score: 8.5
