It's no Red Dead Redemption but it's still worth playing.

I used to have a freind that played the crap out of the game, and I usually watched with an exception of a few times where I would play this game or at least the story, I did play multiplayer with him and I did really like the multiplayer, but anyways he would always praise this game and for the most part the praise is somewhat deserved, but there are some levels in this game that are just really annoying and tedious. but before I start critiquing it I wanted to say that I had a lot of high expectations for this game before I played it.

The Story is pretty good, a little bit cliche for a western but still good nonetheless, I don't want to spoil it but Red(the main character) ends up seeing his dad die too a bunch of ruthless bandits and you will figure out the motive to this as you go on through the story, which is one of the greatest attributes to this game. The overall gameplay is good, but can get repetitve because there aren't a whole lot of changes in it, but for what it is it can be really fun. Most of the levels were really fun there were only two levels that I thought were just horrible though, and that was the one where you play as General Diego, and the other one was when Red and Shadow Wolf are trying to escape from Fort Diego. First I will talk about the one with General Diego, this level is nothing but a filler to the game it's not needed, and some may argue that General Diego is an important part to the story, and thats true but they didn't have to make a level for him. It's actually a short level but it's repetitve and annoying as hell, basically you must start by killing US soldiers, and I'm not making that up, because you are the mexican army you must stop them from crossing a certain bridge, so first you must defend it, and there are a ton of US troops and they will not stop coming and it's really hard and annoying, after that you must use Diegos flare gun to take out their artillery, and this brings more chaos to an already very chaotic level there are troops everywhere and now your getting shot at by the artillery and guess what once you die you must go back to the beggining of the level, that is a load of crap. Thats another flaw in Red Dead Revolver, not giving good checkpoints. So after you destroy there artillery, which is almost impossible to destroy because some of them are being blocked by trees and no I am not making this up, you must now blow up the bridge, which means more defending and more annoyance, and after that the level is over, ughh just terrible.

The second level I hated was with Shadow Wolf you must go around the whole fort killing all of diegos soldiers and they sorround you and your going to die over and over and over again just really annoying and then after you clear out the fort you must kill the guy who killed your father and it's one of the easiest boss fights i have ever played he stands still for you to shoot and he will only shoot a cannon ball at you but as long as you are smart to keep moving and shooting he is a cakewalk, a easy boss to compliment a horrible level.

Other then that though this game is pretty enjoyable to play The only other complaint i could come up with is the duals in this game some can be fun others can be really annoying, some of them are just so painstakingly difficult and I know difficultys not bad, but the game dosen't implement a whole lot of duals into the gameplay so you never really have a chance to get that great at them I wish they just didn't put that much emphasis on them when they aren't that great. The boss battles were good but some of them felt a little unispired but for the most part there are some pretty good ones like Pig Josh for example, he used to scare the crap out of me when I would play with my friend, but this is honestly the best boss battle in the game, and he's the first one so thats kind of dissapointing, but anyways the reason I love this boss battle is because it is a stealth type boss battle you must hide, shoot Pig Josh and then once he gets stunned hide again. This just worked well on this boss battle and it was actually a really memorable boss battle.

Overall I do have a soft spot for this game because I have had a lot of memorys with it but there are some irritating flaws with it, however if you like Red Dead Redemption and it's westernesque charm then you should really like this one.
