I'll admit I wasn't sure I'd like this game at first, but after I got it I loved it!

So Rockstar is great at making free roam worlds, well RDR is of the same but much different than the signature GTA series. This takes place in the Wild West in the early 19 hundreds. You play as Jon Marston who is a renegade cowboy that needs to get his family back from some nasty marshals/cops/government officials whatever they are.

This is where a great story comes into play. I could not find one mission that was at all boring, unentertaining, uncomical, or not action-packed. Whether you are robbing a train, killing some rowdy gang members, or chasing down your old outlaw buddies you will have fun the entire way!

Not to mention there is so much to do outside of the story. Like challenges, rob banks, rob people, bring in bounties, gamble, drink and walk around in a drunken stupor, hunt, break horses, gather herbs and flowers, complete stranger missions, get chased down by bounty hunters, etc. Yes etc. means that there is more than everything I just listed. This is not a game you will get bored with at all!

You may think I just gave this a 9.5 because I was lazy and copied GS. Well I would have given it a ten except for one frustrating thing. The dreaded hunting challenges, now I know they are meant to require patience and time. However, if you're trying to become a master hunter it's a smart idea not to do things like kill a bear with your melee knife! Yet even though this task is very grueling and almost impossible since the bears do gang up on you. What's even more close to being impossible is finding raccoons and skunks! (especially skunks!) Finding the skunks and the raccoons took me more than 6 hours!

The hunter challenges are not the only reason I did not give it a ten though. This is one major flaw in this game. The player spends almost 35-37 hours of the game running around in action packed battles only to get his wife and son back, and then you become a rancher. Let's just say I found this too boring and anti-climactic. I know there is a reason for this madness but why not present the final ending in a much better way than making you run a ranch for the last 6-7 missions. Why Rockstar! You made such a horrible mistake that late in the game...

Do not get me wrong though, this is certainly not one to miss at all!
