Spaghetti westerns were always my favourite kind of films, you cant beat a bit of Clint and his trusty steed well now you are Clint (in a way!!)!!
Presentation is crisp and very good, some quality time has been spent with the visuals to make a good sequel. Bowler hats, rotten teeth, shiny badges, terrain, wildlife thats well wild and whats brilliant is the wildlife unbelievable, it all feels very well bonanza!! The horses are well animated, and the sheer originality and things to do keeps you addicted right to the end (then undead nightmare came along!!). Even the load times remind you of a Sunday afternoon commercial break from cowboys on TV!!
Rockstar produce some of the most captivating games and keep rolling out game of the century software, i haven't played a game so fun and inspiring for a long time. Its so different from other software of today like cod or racers i think that will appeal to most. But some wont take to it, i really enjoyed the original on x box, this is totally different with its sand box feel and sheer size!!! every small animal or creature runs for its life when shot at, you have to wear a bandanna if you wanna rob people to gain max respect and honour, man you even loose honour if you accidently shoot your horse like i did!!! you can buy horse deeds and sell them in better parts of the country your in, better prices and sort after goods such as fur will go for better prices up north, beavers by rivers, side quests, hunting on horseback, what do YOU wanna do?? personally tumble weed (after you've freed the town) becomes deserted and full of ghosts that appear to shoot down and its bloody good fun every time!!! shoot outs in houses, Mexican style bandito's to go collect i could be here a long time!!.
It constantly amuses you too and keeps the lingo and look of the period of time your in. A wide range of weapons at your disposal with varying degree of skill needed when the sheriff posse come a lookin for ya or gangs hunt you down. sometimes its quite difficult and when you bounty hunt be prepared for a chase and when riding home!!!
And the point of the game, the dead eye, slow down time pick where and how many men to shoot and release, sheer joy. Later you gain more skill in this which sort of makes it harder!!! awesome!!
When the sun sets and rises its beautiful to see how crisp the visuals are, skinning varied animals, tie up varmints will earn you more cash or just shoot them its great fun!!
When you are about to have a pistol fight the western style music kicks in to add for "get behind a rock and fight" mood!!! with some good well written dialog, it all seems very satisfying.
With originality, fresh looks, open sand box play, highly addictive game play, multilayer that ll keep you interested on-line (i must admit this HAS to be tried on-line its brilliant fun), with different game-play there too, and if you haven't seen the commercials for the dlc content for red dead your either blind or a hermit on Mars (Venus for the ladies)!!!,
This has to be in your Xmas stocking.
It would have got a 10 rare pop up issues and sometimes its quite a challenge gameplay don't in no way ruin the fun but some may find it difficult, hey no ones perfect. (this is almost)!!
Its not gta on horses either nothing like it, again rockstar i gave you a fistfull of dollars and have been rewarded with a golden six shooter.
