A solid sandbox game, beautiful to look at but a little light on variety.

Well here's my review of Red Dead Redemption. It started out as a blast, such a nice change of pace from the city in the GTA series. It is beautiful to look at and really makes you feel as if you were in the old west. Riding horses, robbing banks, playing cards, duels all these things are fun...for awhile.

After catching a robber for the 20th time, skinning your 100th animal, or playing your 1000th hand of hold 'em I began to find the game a little repetitive. The world they created is beautiful no doubt, but what is there to do other than gollop around searching for treasure or hunting and killing animals? Also having this set in the old west is a double edged sword, there wasn't a whole lot to do back then either so it's not like I can go cause a 10 car pile up, jump in a helicopter, play a video game, or even swim, so again i'm left to gallop around the landscape.

I did enjoy this game but the mission sturcture is startting to get stale it needs to be shaken up in my opinion.

Pros:
-Beautiful to look at
-Playing cards a nice distraction at first
-Watching movies is fun/funny

Cons:
-Hunting and killing animals gets old fast
-Playing cards, hunting outlaws, helping people all these things get old fast
-Not enough mission variety
-Can't swim, you'll drown in a foot of water :(
