paint the land Red with the Dead of your Redemption

User Rating: 9 | Red Dead Redemption X360
This is quite simply put, an amazing game. It captures the gritty attitude of the Wild West while portraying this in a humorous and light manner. Gather bounties on your captured foes or kill them and leave them for the crows. Fight on horseback, lasso and hogtie your enemies and kill for the sake of killing, being the ultimate bad ass of the west or a knight without armor in a savage land. You can choose to live with a bounty or collect bounties. This game offers a choice in karma and makes you relate more to John Marston, the main character. Or you can duel for fame and honor leaving men dead in the sand.

The art design and graphics of this game are beautiful, as are the sound effects. The sound of the horses bring you into the game and the gunfights sound like they are just out of a Western film. The open world game play allows for the random to happen, while a gripping storyline brings you into the intense world of Red Dead Redemption. Everything from skinning a dead horse to dragging a man with your lasso while riding adds value to this game. Hunting is a fun mini game while the actual mini games, such as five finger fillet bring a real western feel to this game. The hokey accents make me feel like I'm in Texas (just kidding), but seriously add to the games cow boyish feel. You feel like a lone wolf, one who is experiences the last days of the cowboy, as depicted in the opening cut scene.

The multiplayer, while I have not played it very much, seems to be just as intense as the single player, being able to have an 8 person showdown, and the ability to take down posses of other players. Playing free roam with a couple of friends add a sort of co-op gameplay. Taking down gang hideouts allows you to level up and get new guns, mounts and characters.

All in all, this game is very exciting and is well worth the money, as it is a decent game

Edit: Having played and beaten the game, it is still very good, but is not worth the 10 I originally gave it. The multiplayer gets boring really quick and the actual online game modes suck. Open world is really annoying for the most part because a lot of really stupid kids just run around killing everyone. The single player is still a thrill but having beaten the game there isn't much to do except complete the challenges and get the DLC. After further review, it is determined that a review of a 9.0 is more appropriate
