What is the point of provisions in Undead nightmare?

I'm not too far into the game but I was wondering what the undead animal parts and flowers/plants are used for if there are no functional stores.

Just keep playing......PLAYER....they are used for something...now if you want me to spoil it for you you I will......*SSSPPPPOOOOIIIILLLLEEEERRRR*

The animal parts are used for a gun...the Blunderbuss..West Dickens makes it for you at a certain point. the flowers are used for other quest and stuff..don't remember what.

I think flowers and stuff are used to make things like bait, boom bait, or some other stuff I can't remember
