Undead Nightmare goes back to John Marston's life and shows what happens if the army didn't kill him and if the undead came to life. It starts of when John came back from a job and a big storm occurs. But all of a sudden Uncle comes into the house blood thirsty and ready to kill. He bites Abigal and Jack and not to long they to turn into the undead. John finishes Uncle and hogties Abigal and Jack. He stets out to find a cure and find out what is going on.
In Undead Nightmare you play as John as you fight through swarms of the undead. In the game you must rescue towns in order to sleep and save there. When you save a town it will have a undead problem again over time so you will always have something to do and every time you finish a town you will get a weapon you don't currently have. But this does get repetetive and so does the zombie killing but it is still fun to kill zombies in your own way. This game isn't like the Dead Rising games so this game isn't all about the zombie killing. But that's not bad. If you played Red Dead Redemption you will meet some familiar faces. Like Seth and Marshal Johnson. Each character has their own personalities and likable actions. Its a good thing this game introduced humor into this game because then it would be like any other zombie game. This game is kind of like an old 70's horror movie. The start of the game a gloomy voice introduces John and the story which is a great way to get you into the scary atmosphere. In this game you will save towns and burn graveyards to continue the story. You meet those familiar faces in side missions which gives you a reason to play them. Other wise this game is pretty much like the same as Red Dead Redemption. You cant kill humans and you can only kill zombies. Their are 3 kinds of zombies that you should know about. Their is the ones that you see in the movies that are slow at first and walk with their arms in front of them but then charges you when you get near them. The second one is the one that uses all fores and are faster than a human and half the speed of a horse. The last one are the big brutes that are slow and tough but will charge you like a bull. The easiest way to kill these monsters is to shoot them in the head. In this game ammo is valuable in this game. You can find it in two ways. You can loot zombie gunslingers or take them from chests in the world. When you save a town you can do it in two ways. You can give the survivors ammo to kill the zombies or you can do the killing your self. In Undead Nightmare you will discover new weapons. Like the torch. You will be using the torch a lot in this game because of the ammo. There are also 4 mythical horses in this game, each having their own powers. This game also introduces 2 new multiplayer game modes. One is a mode where you and 3 other buddies take on hordes of zombies and you try to stay alive as long as possible. The other one isn't that fun so I didn't play it, but you should still try it out. Like I said this game is like Red Dead so that means the bugs are here to. Even though the bugs are here and seem to appear more often in this game it doesn't ruin the gameplay.
This game a great add-on with a new story, gameplay, weapons, 2 new game modes, and awards. And since its only $9.99 i think this game is one that you should get.
