Amazing Game To Play
Some of the pros I think are:
- In game detailed portraits of the characters you earn through finishing certain in game achievements. (See cons below about this as well).
- Battle system is somewhat complex but not overly so, allowing for many different types of tactics that allows for a very rich and unique experience.
- Dating sim that influences your decedents including what weapon they can use and which stats they will be strong in. Some of your decisions can play into what your final character will be like.
- Multiple difficulty settings to both teach newcomers and challenge expert SRPG players alike.
- Japanese only voice actors (enemies are not sub-titled (con) but to be honest most Idea Factory American voice actors have been horrid.
- Boss battles are intense, and have many different types of attacks and are relatively pleasing to watch.
- Many different types of attacks, and different combination will lead to many powerful and dynamic attacks.
Cons:
- In game drawings are a bit to much innuendo, and seems to be way to overboard.
- Many enemies are reused so after the 2nd generation you don't see to many new enemies except for bosses.
- Way to many filler battles (would be about 250 or so total of just plain grind battles that are forced, this does NOT include the random battles in the dungeons).
- Dungeons look mostly the same, there are only 6 different types out of the 25 - 30 dungeons total. Some of the dungeons are not easy to navigate either as exits are hidden due to a non movable camera.
- Only really 3 different enemy AI's. Boss battles may be intense, but after figuring out a certain way to beat any boss, you can literally beat any boss with the same tactic, even on hard.
