Rayman (Long Box) User Review
Nothing more than "ok," but it eventually brought us 2 great sequals.

Rayman started off a series that saw two other great installments before the stupid Rabbids (hopefully only temporarily) took over and (in a way) ruined the franchise. Rayman is a 2-D platformer. The gameplay is basic, you walk, you jump, you punch. The game is really difficult and frustrating, though, due to the levels themselves which progressively become nearly impossible to beat, and the fact that you die when you touch an enemy even if you jump on top of it, you have to punch an enemy to defeat it. The graphics are probably the best part of Rayman. They're nice, colorful, and sharp. The music is pretty good as well. The story is all right, and the intro at the beginning of the game is just classic. Overall, Rayman is nothing more than just "ok." It's an ok game, but it began a franchise that brought us Rayman 2 and 3, 3 being a game that's very near and dear to my heart (as far as games can go, at least). I don't know whether to like or dislike this game because of what it eventually brought, but the game itself isn't anything too special.

With largely acclaimed sequels, its kind of sad to see that the original that started it all is just plain terrible

Rayman is one of the worst games for PlayStation ever. (I can see why this is the first review.)
