I did not have high expectations for this game, but was intrigued by the RTS/FPS combination and was curious to see how this concept would work. In a sense it DOES work. The basic game mechanics and interface are easy to understand and use. Flipping back and forth between squad members and different squads is a snap, as is going back and forth between first person view and the RTS view. It's very easy to control movement. The guns and shooting mechanics are ok, nothing special but not bad. However, the terrible voice work, uninteresting and linear mission design, the stupid, die-in-place AI, and mediocre at best animation drag this shooter from the jungle treetops down into the swamp.
Seriously, Raven Squad cannot hold a candle to other tactical shooters that have been out for number of years and just isn't worth the time. Barely acceptable as a rental......definitely not a buy.
