Ratchet : deadlocked is a great game but lacks some of the platform fun from the old games.

User Rating: 9 | Ratchet: Deadlocked PS2
Graphics: Not many has changed since the previous entries in the series. The graphics show an improvement. The cutscenes look nice and the areas are well designed. Not many glitches and the camera is also good , so no complaints about the graphics of this game.

Music and sound: The music of this game is , as always, pretty good. Nice touch are the commentary voices of Dallas and Juanita. The weapons all have decent sound effects and the voice acting is once again outstanding. A minor bad thing is the absence of Captain Qwark, but there are plenty of good voice actors in this game, so don't worry.

Gameplay: The gameplay has changed a bit from the other entries in the series. In this game, the focus is more on the shooting. Where the previous games were 50% platforming and 50% action , this game has 70% action and 30% platforming. For some people, this is a good thing , for some people a bad thing. You can still upgrade your weapons but there pops up a bad thing. For the improved version of your weapon, you gotta level it to lvl10. To get the weapons omega form, you gotta level it up to lvl 99 which is way to much in my eyes. The game also throws in some vehicle levels , which are pretty good. Also this time you haven't got Clank on you back, which I find personally a bad move.

Story: The story of deadlocked goes like this: Ratchet and Clank together with Big Al are being kidnapped by Gleeman Vox. He forces them to participate in a tv-show which lets heroes battle each other till death. While trying to escape, Ratchet must fight in the tournament to stay alive. Insomniac introduces once again some great characters and the story is pretty decent.

Althoug it's different from the other games, Ratchet :Deadlocked is certainly worth checking out if you liked the other games or just like action games in general
