Now don't get me wrong this was a marvel back in the day but looking back it hasn't aged well but still worth a play.

''Ratchet and Clank.'' Hey! That sounds like a good name for a game! Lets also make the game awesome! And that's what insomniac did, but now looking back in 2013 is a whole new thing. The game hasn't aged very well, with the life stystem instead of a bar of health, the different sound-effects for weapons/gadgets and the voice actor for Ratchet but that's no big deal. The story is that Ratchet has kidnapped Clank and is now a wanted fugitive as it says on the back of the game box. The graphics are cartoony and very colourful and vibrant which adds a nice amount of life to the game instead of black, grey, silver and so on. The controls are easy to get used to, X to jump, Square to use your wrench, Triangle to bring up your quick select menu and Circle to fire your weapon. You can also strafe and double jump. The gameplay is fun and has a variation of puzzles through-out which adds to the charm of the game. Puzzles such as guiding robots to the home or using them to kill off some enemies. During these robot sections you will play as Clank instead of Ratchet who is weaker but can communicate with the robots. He can also be used as a heli-pack or a thruster-pack. There are even flying sections were you shoot down enemies before you die and it's a great feature that Ratchet and Clank 3 lacked. The level designs are creative and wonderful. Take Pokitaru for example, nice beach location full of magic and wonder. Ratchet and Clank is a great game, with great graphics, easy controls, a lot of cool puzzles, fantastic weapons and gadgets, chock full of creativeness, superb flying sections and a true gem. The downsides were: It was surprisingly short depending how good you are and the difficulty could be downright outrageous but overall this is a quirky, fun game that you should get to complete your collection.
