Ratchet and Clank Going Commando is the second game in the Ratchet and Clank series but necessary a sequel. The events of this game take place shortly after the first game, but players don't need to play the first one to know what is going on in this game. The game is an action adventure and platformer. It's pretty simple and easy to play for any age group more or less. Players play as Ratchet, a space mechanic and his sidekick Clank, a robot. Throughout the game players acquire new weapons and can even upgrade something new that was not in the first game. As well as that players can improve their armor, increase their health and upgrade their spaceship. These rpg elements give the game more replay value and make the game easier but at the same time challenging. The graphics are about the same as the first game but with more creative environments and a more colorful setting. The sound is adequate, guns sound powerful and the soundtrack fits the gameplay and setting and the voice work is well done. Overall the game is worth playing with it's fun gun gameplay and the addition of some racing and spaceship battles. The one thing that is lacking is the story, it isn't really interesting but many don't play the Ratchet and Clank games for their story so it is not a problem. Fun gameplay, good replay value, a host of improvements and some light humor make this a great game to invest some time in. Players should expect the game taking between 10 to 15 hours to complete but even after completion, players can replay it again to buy all the weapons, armor and upgrades.
