I never knew this game in the past, so that might be why it bores me in the present.

User Rating: 2.7 | Rampart PS3
In Rampart you must defend your castles against vicious warships. It works by first picking a favorite castle at a particular location. There are usually 3-5 castles pr. location.

Once you've picked the castle, you are now asked to deploy a handful of cannons. Once the cannons have been placed as you please, the battle begins. Some warships come sailing your job is to place your wicked little pointer on top of them and hit fire to release your cannons.

If you can sink the warships you are succesful and can proceed to the next level. If not, you are a loser and must settle for the bitter taste of defeat.

Now... if the graphics didn't come across as hidiously ugly, and the gameplay didn't feel incredibly slow up til the actual battle situation and incredibly short in the actual battle situation, this might actually have been a little fun - of course, only provided that the controls were also fixed, so your pointer would actually move in the same direction and at the same time you pressed your d-pad or moved your analog stick.

Now, one question remains. I consider myself somewhat educated on gaming history and what titles where a blast in the 1980's, but in this memory, I do not see the title Rampart anywhere. In fact, I did not know of the game, until it showed up in the PSN store.

I believe rereleasing Mortal Kombat II was a great idea, and I did have some degree of understanding for Q*Bert. But this? Why is this title shown alongside titles like Tekken 5, Mortal Kombat II and Gripshift?
Just why did Sony decide to pick and republish Rampart?

The question remains.

2.7 for terrible.
