User Rating: 6.5 | Rampage: Total Destruction GC
Rampage: Total Destruction is a enjoyable game if you have been a fan of the series, but if you didn't enjoy the games in the past your not going to find anything new here. It follows much of the old gameplay you would expect from previous games and it comes around on the Gamecube pretty well. Some notable problems with the gameplay are very obvious. Such as falling off buildings or not being able to climb up them at certain points. In this game there are only seven cities New York, L.A. etc, but there are many different sub divisions to the cities, around seven parts so when you add it up its a fair amount of city blocks to destroy but the game is still not going to give out more than ten hours of gameplay. You will have your average levels like Central Park or Broadway in New York, than you will have a final level which will feature a famous tourist attraction from the city and a boss battle. Such as in New York you will climb up the Empire State Building trying to destroy some form of U.F.O. The bosses aren't all that great, they are usually easy or you can always just completely ignore the boss and destroy the buildings which will still let you beat the level. However if you are one who likes to unlock every single hidden secret this game has something for you. This game features the original three character George, Lizzy and Ralph, but there are also twenty seven other characters in which for you to unlock. This adds some depth to the game but you just don't feel the need to do so because you'll probably get bored with this game. The gameplay in this game is just smash and destroy which sounds fun but in reality gets boring after a while. So the gamplay in this game is just a new coat of paint on the series.

The graphics in this game are not all that great. This however is the first Rampage game in the series to feature 3D graphics and they bring it over pretty well. The buildings look pretty well however you only see the front or sides of them and they are not really at all detailed. The monsters in this game look pretty good but could have been a lot better. Overall graphicly this game doesn't use the full capabilities of the Gamecube.

The sound in this game is one of the good things about this game. During the game there will be many sounds at once such as screaming, gun shots, and the smashing of buildings. Without the sound this game would be nothing because it just makes it feel more enjoyable if you here the sounds of destruction and chaos in this game.

Value. The value of this game is not high at all. First off when this game was released it was only $29.99 Canadian. So obviously they knew that nobody would buy the game if it was the regular sixty dollars so from a marketing point of view it is a good price set. So the game is worth the cheap buy.

So overall this is a good addition to the series. You will like the game only if you are a fan of the series or if you love destroying stuff for some reason.
