An aggravating and difficult game that is both fun and annoying

User Rating: 7.5 | Rally Bike NES
I used to spend hours playing Rally Bike on the NES, especially in two player mode against one of my friends or siblings. The game itself seems simple, race against other bikes to the end of the course. You have to worry about crashing into oncoming traffic, other bikes, oil slicks, trees, and other various obstacles along the way, as well as grabbing power ups like more gas and other boosts. This makes for a very simple idea, but a maddeningly difficult game. The difficult comes from the fact that if you crash, you have to start back at the beginning of the level. These are fairly long courses, to this causes a lot of problems. It takes a few tries just to figure out what the correct path is on a given course, and there are several sections that are extremely difficult even if the correct path is known. Come to think of it, I think the furthest I got was either the third or fourth course. I don't even know if there is one after that. The game is fun, in it's own super challenging way. It supplies a lot of game play time and replay value, if only because it is so hard to complete a level, yet so easy to pick up and play the game.
In conclusion, I call this a good, but not great entry into the original Nintendo Entertainment System cannon. w00t. More.
