This game is second only to Sid Meier's original Civilization as one of the best games of all time.

User Rating: 8.8 | Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon PC
This game is so incredibly addictive. It is amazingly advanced for its time. The newer railroad tycoons may embellish the gameplay, but they really don't improve it much.

Build tracks from settlement to settlement and populations burgeon, industries appear and disappear. Fight competitors, engage in stock warfare. Fight for rights to terminals in towns with price wars.

There are few games out there today that match the complexity of gameplay, or its odd addictiveness. Maybe its watching the money roll in as the little bell chimes (like Pavlov's dog), or maybe its watching yoru little trains stream across the map. In any case, I would love to have this game ported over to my Pocket PC.
