An easy to learn train management game with a twist.

User Rating: 7.5 | Railroad Pioneer PC
You are a pioneer in the process of building the first tracks in 19th century America. No stock exchange, no salary for you, just a company to look after.
Planning your tracks and schedule to transport goods is only a part of the fun. This is mostly an unexplored country, and the first thing will be sending a party of up to eight specialists to discover the surroundings as Railroad Pioneer introduced the fog of war in a game of management adding some suspense to the beginning of each game. You'll battle wild animals, Indian tribes and desperadoes, but also rivals who will show up and try to steal you the right to trade with the towns - luckily you'll be able to bribe the city council, and play some other tricks depending on the money you are willing to spend in secret operations.
Because this is a historic game, no modern locomotives are included, but your locomotives gain experience points which can be spent to better their performances. Sending a locomotive to carry out a single mission gives it an instant experience point. Moreover you can carry on your best locomotives form mission to mission during the campaign.

This is a decent game for people who like trains and strategy. Unfortunately the game is marred by a memory leak which makes it crash if you have too many locomotives, that is, after mission four. So you'd better try the game on your PC before buying it.
