Rage - Behind the Scenes: The Dawn Video

Fallout? I've never seen it up close for real, but to me it always looked too grainy and muddy for my taste. And comparing this with Borderlands is just utter sacrilege. (although THAT would be right up Id's alley :)) This is the best looking game in QUITE a WHILE - the perspective, proportions, lighting are all JUST right. And in this age of 'Unreal' games I was SO glad to see the neon-lit section NAIL the effect. Even the bloom etc is understated and just enough (like Half-Life in that respect). And the fidelity of the cross-hairs and the detailing on the guns itself was enough to get me psyched - while the human models too look MUCH better than the earlier demos IMO (this could be a minor error in perception though since I just came over from the Deus Ex 3 videos which looked SO last-gen). It's weird to get excited about this but it's been SO long since any games have been genuinely graphically exciting thanks to the stretched console life cycles. Go Id!

Who cares if it reminds you of fallout or borderlands..Its id software the people that brought us doom..Looks good do you really care if it reminds you of fallout??Think the weapons the design the graphics the story look interesting...Cant wait bring it baby..Waiting a long time for this game..

onikay I think you need glasses. Please show me another game that looks better and runs at 60fps then Rage. Please do....

this game is so simmilar to fallout, i hope it is as good as fallout too

The only thing missing from this is a 1st to 3rd person toggle. Everything else is sublime. Eventually the post apocalytic theme will become stale like WWII, but for now I love it.

Seems to have alot of attracting elements to it but still... I really need to see how it falls all together. The graphics aren't of the highest level (but I care more about gameplay anyway.... so meh). It's definitly a game to keep an eye on but it doesn't give me the epicness feeling that some other games do... means nothing though since epic feeling can still dissapoint while vica versa also goes. *Adds it to the "Buy it if the reviews & player opinions turn out OK"-List Whatever happens, this fall will have some good games :)

See, I had this all set up to buy a game in August, September, then October. But they moved this to October, and I have to buy this and Battlefield 3. My wallet will BURN.

So...it's Fallout. Ha ha ha! I kid. I kid. Very excited for this game. The more I see of it the more I'm interested. I haven't bought an ID game proper since Doom II when it first came out! It's about time I buy another one of their games.

I just hope the story actually matters, for real. It looks phenomenal, don't get me wrong! However, if this is a case of "all style, no substance", I'll pass. I am cautiously optimistic....for now.

One of the best games of the year, and it's in October! Not November like every other blockbuster game. This and BF3 will consume my time, till Skyrim comes out. A good year to be a gamer my friends.

Fallout was pretty bad. I didnt like the combat system very well. It seems like an rpg, but without the rpg beneficts (like a party or pretty strategic combats). Rage seems like an action-based fps, with little rpg elements like the "running-away from battle" stuff. Although i like the idea of carrying more than two weapons at once.

Some of these newbie comments are hilarious. "Has borderlands written all over". Say what? Did you see any of the videos? Borderlands was neat but it has nothing on this. And if you really need a 'review' for a new id game, you obviously are not a gamer. Having played Rage at E3, its the 'feel' of the id games that make them great. Everything just feels right. Movement speed, handling. All of those things that Fallout does not have.

You people need to quit comparing this game to Borderlands and Fallout. This is a game that, yes, has Bethesda involved (Really good thing) But that doesn't mean it wll be anything like Fallout. Borderlands wasnt a half bad game, but it's focus was Co-op, not singleplayer. Rage will be a different game, but with the fun you'd find in games like Fallout and Borderlands.

Part Fallout, part Borderlands....I am in. Looks good to me. Great games coming to the PC this Fall....BF3, SWTOR and Rage.

Not saying I won't play this, cause I intend to get my hands on a copy, it just seems odd to me that they keep talking about how this game is so original and how the story is original. Every time I see them talk about the story and the characters I immediately think: "This is almost exactly the same as Fallout 3." The biggest difference I can see is that you get a car.
