I think difficult platforming isn't enough to drop the review score. I'm sure  plenty of other people didn't have any problem with the platforming.

yea it seemed like there really wasnt anything negative except it gets annoying sometimes i think it deserves like 8.5 or even a 9 given that its an indie puzzle game

@ragnar320 so because a game was made by a small team it deserves an inflated score?

Quantum Conundrum doesn't look like it has the same brilliant sense of humor and design that Portal does, but I think I'll buy Quantum Conundrum when it comes out on XBLA.  It looks good enough to at least remind me of its inspiration, at least.

Looks very very good. Not the cultural and critical hit portal was but still it's own little bag of tricks and wonder

I'm officially eyeballing the PC version of this.

Argh, what's with the clashing background music + game sound track.

@trollkind Gahh, Its how I wanted it when I cut it. Depends on the quality of speakers or earphones you are using it might come out too high. I have a setting that is pretty standard for reviews and seems like a good medium. Can't please everyone and I can't audio engineer for all types of outputs.  If it is constantly too high in projects I'll bring it down.

This game called for some more light hearted music instead of the dramatic mellow stuff most games provoke. That stuff fades into the background a lot easier as well.

trollkind

 @jmaybury Well, I lived through it. ;)

Thanks for answering! Background music just seemed 20-30% too loud in general and I'd fade it down when the game has sounds with rythm, or kill game sound completely as long as the reviewer speaks. It all became a bit much at times.

@Tidal_Abyss That was EXACTLY my first thought. I figure any game with multiple dimensions and Q is a game I want to play.

It's really a unique game. It reminds me of both Portal and Ratchet and Clank. The visual style is cool and accommodating, and the overall presentation is superb. This is really worth checking out.

I love how Professor Quadrangle is being voiced by the man who played "Q" on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

If you the Quatum Conundrum Season Pass on Steam for $19.99, you get the full game, the soundtrack, and two upcomming DLCs. I would say that's a fair deal for just five dollars more.

Just stayed up too late playing the first wing of this game... then watched this review. I agree with it so far.

Great fun! Lovin' the quirky, cartoony attitude and the look and feel of this game. I especially agree with the assessment of the platforming component in this review. Although, I think I noticed slight snapping to surfaces which seemed to prevent some falls and makes those parts bearable. But I could be imagining that...

I have pre-ordered it off steam. I think i am going to enjoy it for some hours of gameplay.

btw, I have also played both Portal 1 and 2 (coop as well).

A good review for an interesting game. How's the story though? Is there a strong underlying motivation for solving the puzzles?
