Alongside Doom, the grandfather of shooters.

I played it some time ago and the thing I can say that it's all action and this is what a good old-fashioned shooter does. The primary thing you must do is to survive waves of enemies and to shoot them right in the head.... Read Full Review

    Best shooter ever? Damn close.

Quake II has yet to be bested by any of Id's other works. It's a fact. Quake III arena had a crappy 50ms lag, Doom 3 was a disappointment, what does that leave us with as Id's achievement of greatest proportions? Quak... Read Full Review

The only thing that this game didn't do well is that it wasn't a sequel at all from the first one. I mean they have a way different storyline. Which that quake 2 does have a better storyline than the original. But that's... Read Full Review

    not scary, not so fun.

it does good with the objectives, but not as good as goldeneye, with plain "quake" textures & sounds, along with the weapons & even the level design, & most of all, the graphics aren't as good as what can be seen on the ... Read Full Review

A rare masterpiece that did not age a bit

Quake 2 is an excellent game. It is very atmospheric, made in an industrial setting, a cyborg world in reddish brown colors, with impressive mega-architecture. This style is kept throughout the game. Game mechanics are e... Read Full Review

A sequel that's drastically different from the original game, and suffers because of it.

Quake II is the sequel to the 1996 hit game Quake. However, it’s not like the Quake you remembered playing. It’s an amusing story, this game was not really supposed to be the sequel, it was supposed to be a brand new ser... Read Full Review
