My woman was asking for a WII, but @ $249.00 this system is now way over priced. Any word on a much needed price drop? I'd like to see it @ $189.00 or better yet $179.00 this year, if they wait til after the holiday season $149.00 would be a good price point.

The graphics and over all game are much better than I expected. Lots of fun. My only gripe is why didn' they keep Mario the ref?

Punch Out looks really good, its fast and its just fun. The visuals are charming and they look good. Might have a use for the old wii after all.

I love Punch Out this game is tighter then eight virgins in a vauxwagon Beetle.

pass me with the cut screen intro they should have kept it more old school. mario as a ref would have been a kool unlockable. a real-life known champion wud have been better like mike tyson did back in the days. and since they tried to make it more 3-Dish looking i would have love to see them circling around the ring instead of glue to one part of it.... :(

Hee HEE! Looks like a lot of fun. Not enough for me to buy a Wii. But it makes me wish I had one. An earlier poster asked about pattern based controls... well, in the original arcade version, over time you would notice that certain punch, dodge patterns or "combos" worked well with certain opponants. Took quite a while to get good enough to beat the entire game.

i heard in the NES version it was mario whas the referee. It would be funny if mario would be the referee in this version to :P

Itīs great but why only 13 boxers? even super punch out had 16, add those the the original 11 and add 5 new ones. That would have been epic.

This looks frickin' sweet. I'm picking it up today. I only wish they'd included Mike Tyson. I'm sure he could use the money.

The original Punch-Out! is one of the greatest games ever made. The only thing I wished this game had was a "real-life" boxer character, like in Mike Tyson's Punch Out. Manny Pacquiao, Bernard Hopkins, or Vitali/Vladmir Klitschko would of been PERFECT.

I haven't found a single game on the Wii that I have liked, but I loved the original so this might be worth a look.

Nice review, looks like this could be a lot of fun. I think I vaguely remember the original being released on a very old computer, maybe c64 or amiga, but I don't think I ever played it... one thing that is confusing me that maybe someone who did play the original can answer, what is meant by the controls being pattern-based?
