This FMV-based game, whose acting is surprisingly decent, puts you in the shoes of a night club "freak show" who takes cash to satisfy his customers' curiosities- that is, until he is visited by a mysterious young woman, who invites him to discover the hidden past of her family.

That's where the gameplay begins, from there you can either stay in the view of the main character, or click on an icon surrounding the FMV, representing one of the nearby subcharacters.

To do so, allows you to see/hear from the vantage point of that character, then jump into the head of another nearby subcharacter, or return to your own.

The advantage of seeing through your own eyes being that you can touch items to see a vision representing the items' past.

The game has a ton of different endings, each with their own name, and question at the end provoking the player to discover another piece of the mystery.

The storyline also involves finding Collectors, and at the various points where you can use one, you can not only jump into the heads of far-away characters, but manipulate the emotions of nearby ones as well.

I don't envy the director; filiming the scenes so that they can be seen through each actor/actress' viewpoint, though I'm sure a tedious task, is well worth it for the players.

The complex story contains hours upon hours worth of video; while some games of the FMV genre don't have much replayability, this game is loaded with it.

The story is also of a very violent, sexually explicit, and graphic nature.
Sound like fun?
It is, especially since the plot contains several bizarre scenes, involving the characters' insecurities.

If you're looking for a well-filmed, complex game that you can replay over and over to discover new plot points, I highly recommend Psychic Detective.
