Sony taking orders for ceramic-white PSP
Launch of preorders for Japan-exclusive console variant coincides with announcement of Game Boy Micro release details.
TOKYO--Visitor's to Sony's official Japanese PlayStation Web site might be surprised by what they find today. No, not the prominently featured UMD for "Purple's Porno Graffitti" (which it turns out is just a 2004 live performance by the band Porno Graffitti), but the availability of preorders for the new ceramic-white PSP system.
The ceramic-white PSP will be offered only as a value pack set, and it carries the same price as the normal black model PSP at 24,800 yen ($225). The package comes with an AC adapter, battery pack, 32MB Memory Stick Duo, remote control headphone, hand strap, and a carrying pouch that matches the color of the handheld. Available for purchase separately is a white accessory pouch and screen-cleaning cloths for the price of 1,500 yen ($14). Consumers can also pick up additional sets of white PSP pouches and hand straps for 2,000 yen ($18).
Sony has not yet announced any plans to release the ceramic-white PSP in Europe or North America.
