PQ for PSP tests retail

D3Publisher of America passes first exam and releases the puzzler PQ: Practical Intelligence Quotient for the PSP.

Studies show that games can help increase reaction time, teach logic, and expand spatial abilities. However, those qualities are usually veiled behind crawling through dungeons, shooting Nazis, and saving princesses. Not so with PQ: Practical Intelligence Quotient, the first release for D3Publisher of America. The PSP game has 100 3D puzzles that test gamers' logic by challenging them to move blocks, pull switches, and avoid obstacles. There are 13 different puzzle types to tease brains, and users can post their "PQs" online and see how they stack up against the rest of the world. The game was developed by Japanese company Nowproduction and retails for $29.99. Check back later today for GameSpot's full review.

    I can't believe how people automatically assume that because a game has the word intelligence in the title, it is an "educational" game. This is a puzzle game just like any other that you have/may have played, only instead of giving you a score it gives you a rating based on your performance. It is actually a pretty good game... if you like puzzle games.

    The "Brain Training" games on DS are best sellers in Japan, but just by listening to these close minded jabrones on here, it won't sell in the states. I bet if they slap a couple of breasts on the screen and spatter blood on the puzzles that they'll buy it.

    Wow, it is interested to see how fast people will judge a game before playing it. I suspect this title is going to be greatly reviewed. I havn't played it my self, but I will buy it. Not sure if anyone here played Inteligence Qube on the PS1, but that is one game that will stand the test of time.

    p.s. All puzzle games require you to think and use your brain, whether you like it or not, games, movies, cartoons and more are educational. Yes... even the simpsons!

    lol @ curly! I dont get the idea of buying a psp, but not keeping it. Unless somebody offered near 250 to buy it off you. Personally PSP is not practical in my opinion, so I will probably never see if this "game" is any good. haha

    shadowburger: Yet another puzzle game? Like "saving the princess" platformers don't outnumber them like 10 to 1 already. Ignorance *must* be bliss to make statements like that.

    Eh, I would much rather rescue the princess and hone my skills that way rather than buying yet another puzzle game for PSP.

    Wow...a game that's actually original, interesting, and possibly challenging for the PSP?!?!? It's no surprise that people are not interested in it. If it doesn't say GTA or Madden on the box people just don't seem to care anymore. I personally wish I had kept my PSP long enough to play this game.

    Such ignorance like this didn't exist 7 years ago when Intelligent Qube came out. I'll give it a chance.
