the bigs 2 makes Ryan Howard a god a home run hitting. If he makes good contact, its a automatic home run.

Well I think it's about time that Jeff Gerstman and Gamespot kiss and make up. The reviewers that made Gamespot great are all gone now. Or maybe the advertising dollars from the game devs are still king in the world of Gamespot.

the overall sound of his review is good...but he's stiff...lighten up bro, and i caught your eyes trailing off to the sides twice...LOL...maybe u guys need to shift the script to just behind the camera...

btw...good review, but for a 8.0 game, you guys didn't present much about where it's lagging off.

This game looks great. I played The Bigs 1 on Wii and I thought it was a blast.

This video review surprises me though. McShea looks awkward, almost like he just woke up, stood in front of the camera and started reading lines. I think it's kind of Bush League for a site like Gamespot to put this out. I know you guys, and McShea, can do much better.

Damn i hate these standart sport games like: football, or golfing .. whats so fun about it. I just know people buy these games and just play it for a view hours ..

@GhostfaceL94 - He does a poor job all around. And obviously reading and speaking off a card makes him sound like a voice recording from a old sci fi movie. No flow or emotion. No point in having a video review if it offers nothing more then a written one.

its a lot of fun if not a little fustrating (only 15 pounds or 30 dollers)

I feel having gameplay video the whole time with voice over talking about it would be a better feel for the reviews. However, I did enjoy this review for the simple reason it made me take a second look at this game. Steriod pumping baseball never excited me much and I really wish I could get a sim-type game again. But maybe, just maybe this is worth picking up... mainly because I'm sick of playing NCAA 2005...

This entire review could apply to the first game. Is there actually anything new in part 2?

cool review, seems like a fun game

I think maybe these things should be done without the reviewer appearing on-camera. No offense to the reviewers, but some of them are not really "tv friendly", if you know what I mean. At the very least, get these guys a decent shirt, or something. It's kind of bush-league, but can be better with maybe some real production people working on these things.
Despite the weak video review, I'm sold on this game.

Sorry, this wasn't a review at all. It spent nearly all the time explaining what the game was about and how it plays, but that is not a review. I wanted to know how well it plays offline & online. Do the controls & mechanics work well or not? What are the various game modes and options? Is there enough in the game to keep one's attention for days, weeks or months? None of this was addressed, if I want to know how the game plays, I'll buy it, if I want to know if it is worth buying then I had hoped the "review" might have given me more information to help me decide.

I agree with you mjk 1. Intro is just a touch too long. Also felt that the review focused too strongly on some areas of the game and not others...would have liked to known how online gameplay is.

    intro too long

to long of an intro for a review, what a waste of time

I don't know if it is just my computer, but high def video reviews always seem to be buggy and never play through....

This one stopped playing around half way through as countless others in the past have, it is well annoying.

@edgewalker16 leave Tom alone his home planet was much smaller than earth so naturally moving his arms during reviews tires him out way too much.

I momentarily misread the title and thought: "OMG. They actually made a sequel to Big Rigs Racing!"

  • edgewalker16

    Posted Jul 12, 2009 11:08 pm PT

I don't know if you read these reviews or not Tom Mc Shea, but I (and countless others) keep telling you to work on your hand motions...you aren't waiting in a long line or pinned by some unseen gravity field---MOVE YOUR ARMS!!!

At least the review explained the good/bad points of the game. Some reviews don't even do THAT much.

Stop reading off the script and tell us what you really think of this game. Gametrailers has the best reviews.

  • TheRaiderNation

    Posted Jul 12, 2009 4:58 pm PT

Gamespot's video reviews have really goen downhill. You get rid of Jeff, then lose Alex and Ryan and Rich and this is what you are left with. Ign's video reviews are better than this.

Right now Gametrailers and Giantbomb have the best video reviews going

  • rogerpkp

    Posted Jul 12, 2009 2:24 pm PT

no really, it is about the reviewers. I used to always come to gamespot over IGN, but watching this video review made me realize why I've switched in the last year.

What the hell happened to the old editorial team?

  • MrGeo24

    Posted Jul 12, 2009 2:00 pm PT

jesus, gamespot has really gone downhill. i miss the days of jeff, rich, and greg k.

  • Riddler91

Why does it have to be this guy who does all the video reviews? I find myself abandoning Gamespot for this very reason. I'm sure Tom or whatever is a great guy, but let's face it: he ain't no dancer. He is the horseman of the Gamespot-apocalypse.
