    This is just the demo gameplay. I think the action will get a lot faster later on. It might be a combination of real time and turn based because you are frantically thinking up strategies and whatnot, almost like the ATB meter on FF8 & 9 just, a really really short meter.

    But seriously, I'm loving the battle system. It seems like a cross between turn-based and real-based almost. Seems innovative. Engaging even. Can't wait.

    i think my favorite small detail is when you enter battle, the lights that at first seem like nothing matches with something in the actual world. its so exciting compared to just glass breaking on the screen(ffx) or distorting the image a swirl and colors (ffvii,ffviii,ffix)

    i can't stop finding videos on them entering battle. i just want to see more angles of the lights and where else they come from! not just buildings in the background but off the enemies themselves sometimes if they have a really shiny armor.

    I'm glad they're moving back to a more traditional combat system. FF12's battle system was sort of boring, felt like I was playing an MMO, and the gambit system just had all the other characters playing themselves for you. FF12 battle system may have been real time, but the strategic part of battling was all spent in the gambit menu.

    O i hope ffvs13 is in real time. Kingdom Hearts was effin great because of that.

    I feel the exact same way as you Punkdsk8erdude. I've always been interested in the stories and the characters and such but i could never get through 10% of the game because of the turn based, and i was really looking forward to this one because i thought it wasnt...Turn based fighting too slow for me and doesnt make much sense to me...Well i heard somewhere that versus was going to be real time so i'll sit and hope for that.

    punksk8erdude i think FF13 versus might be in real time. i think so because its the same people that created the kingdom hearts series. i could be wrong but you shouldnt miss one of the most antcipated games just for that.

    aw man.
    i may get some thumbs down and angry remarks from this comment but...
    im really dissappointed that the battles are turn based!
    i never liked FF because of the battle system, just like although the story was great and it was star wars, i never like KOTOR because of the combat - i need real time combat!
    and thats dissappointing because FF always interested me but and i read somewhere that the battles were in real time in FF13 but apparently that was wrong lol.
    well...graphics are absolutely incredible. FF fans will enjoy this one im sure.
    Too bad for me...oh well lol maybe ill give it a try anyway...the action still seemed pretty fast paced...

    Wow, that black fellow is kinda... flamboyant with his stance. I really hope they don't do something horrible with the english VO by giving him a stereotypical accent or slur.

    Hey look, they went back to having a seperate screen for battles. The system looks like they meshed all of their previous ones together. The introduction of combos should make things interesting. The game has beautiful graphics too. I'm looking forward to it.

    Yay they get pulled in batlles!! Loving it, who cares for the gambit system, it was so good i already forgot it, ya know FF12 is the only FF game i sold, sais a lot
