Harry Potter and Half-Blood Prince arrive June 30

After film delay, EA reschedules boy wizard's latest game on 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, Wii, DS, PC, Mac, mobile for next month.

Harry Potter has been causing problems for more than just Voldemort as of late. In September, EA announced that it would be forced to delay its game tie-in to Warner Bros' Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, following the film's abrupt retreat to summer 2009. A day after the announcement, EA said that the delay would result in $120 million in revenue vanishing from its fiscal year--which only aggravated the publisher's full-year losses of $1 billion.

With Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince now locked in for a July 15 theatrical release, EA and Warner Bros Interactive said today that the game will finally be given its day at retail on June 30. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Wii, DS, PC, Mac, and mobile platforms.

Developed at EA Bright Light in Guildford, England, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is based on book six of J.K. Rowling's best-selling franchise. In Half-Blood Prince, players will put on Potter's wizard hat as he battles his way through Hogwarts' pimply legions and Voldemort's nefarious demons.

    i am a big HP fan..But EA truly ruin the flavor of the books in these games.I felt gr8 about these games when i was kid.but now i feel these are just awful.Couldn't they follow ROCKSTAR's BULLY??!!Just think such superb game play+MAGIC WAND!!I'm sure this sort of thinking would've make HP fans crazy about these games..And yes.we do want some expressive faces as the characters of the game..not those DUMB DEAD EYES..

    I can't wait for this game big hp fan love the books and movies. I hated the Goblet of Fire it sucked! bad.... the third one was my fave it let you fly with buckbeak and explore hogwarts i hope they let you fly in this one but i wonder if they're gonna do the 7th parts 1&2 like the gof i hope not!

    These games aren't intended to be have the 'epicness' of Gears of War or COD, these are purely just for fun and really not worth the 60 dollars it costs, I wish they'd lower the price on these, HP fans rarely play these games over and over.

    I sure hope they don't ruin it like they did with Goblet of Fire. I hated that game. Didn't even want to finish it.

    I actually loved the first 2 when I was about 7(I actually reviewed #1 on GS)... But my parents PC couldn't actually run number 3! I've hated the rest... And the worst thing is they now use the official movie music! I mean, the old ones had awesome music by none other that Jeremy Soule...

    I loved the first three , especially the first one, but now EA is just trying to make a awful lot of money with unfinished products. I just hope that at LEAST Jeremy Soule is scoring this game, his music is just epic.

    They weren't forced to delay anything. They could have released it months ago. They said that it was ready then and when they said they were delaying, they weren't even going to improve the game. This is a bunch of crap. I'll just wait for some rich fan to finally make these games and movies the way they should be.

    i liked all EXCEPT the one after the prizoner of azkaban. the first 3 gave you hogwarts to explore the nest 2 didnt. i like open world gameplay in the Harry potter games but hated the GOBLET OF FIRE THATS IT!

    That screenshot looks terrible. And the HP games have always been terrible (though not sure about the first one? never tried it)

    I wish they would make an rpg and really let you get into the immersive world. But alas they just gona spit out another movie trash

    Because of the delay in the movie they should have had plenty of time to perfect the game. I really do hope so!

    Oh great another Harry Potter game with Medicore gameplay,Boring Visuals and Ugly Character designs. The only Harry Potter game that I had fun with was the first Harry Potter game.

    I didn't enjoy the previous ones as much as I did OotP. Hopefully it improves on it, I had a lot of fun with OotP when I rented it.
