They fires off at Leipzig

Unknown publisher plans to unveil near-future sci-fi shooter at this year's German game-industry trade show.

The unfortunate offspring of Doc Ock and the Aliens queen.

At this year's Leipzig Games Convention, 390 exhibitors from all over the world will descend upon the Leipziger Messe convention center to display their wares. Of those exhibitors, one will be unveiling a new sci-fi first-person shooter titled They.

While the public relations firm teasing They were cagey with exactly who would be developing and publishing the game, they were slightly more forthright with the game's details. They takes place in a "mysterious" near-future sci-fi universe. In They, players will apparently be made to "love" their weapons, and the game features a "heavy usage of physics" in destructible environments. They will also feature a single-player campaign and multiplayer modes.

They is projected to arrive on the PC and next-generation consoles in 2008 or 2009. Check back during this year's Leipzig Games Convention--running August 22-26--for more on this mysterious shooter.

    the movie they was scary as ^^^^ im sure the game would be the same way if you herd of the movie i watched the movie by myself i have nightmares lol

    Looks like it could be pretty cool. There seem to be collectable upgrades within each level, I wonder if they're going to be Deus Ex style upgrades... seeing through wall and invisibility and wot-not.

    I can't help but think that the bad guys have been ripped from Final fantasy.

    yeah it looks like my knid of thing, fear 2, resi 5, bioshock 2 and now this. got some cracking games coming out this year.

    I think it will be like a pseudo-sequel to Prey, like Bioshock is to System Shock.

    The screen shots look great.. We need more individual and unique looking First Person titles at the moment. Tracking with anticipation.

    Yeah, oneofthefall is correct, its a ga of mysterie, but i think this game will be amazing.

    This Game is a mystery in itself The Creatures controlling the robots look very much like the things from Aliens? If so im looking Extremely forward to this i own the Trilogy and the Aliens v Predator films and have been waiting for a Aliens FPS for a long time,

    I know of this game but i was really worried when i was not seeing this game anywhere. I saw its gameplay and i can tell you that its very unique. I think this will be awesome.

    Nothing like Prey. I was at Leipzig. I saw some gameplay, and It's very unique. it's got a feeling of flow, unlike most shooters. gonna be good.

    Wow i read some stuff about this game in an English Playstation magazine (PSW) and i am now hooked. According to them the visuals are incredible - 60fps @ 1080p currently, but if "they" (geddit ) cant keep it that way they will drop it to 720p (no biggie). Apparantly (PSW again) we are looking a a winter 2009 release. Hmm. Oh well, there is plently to look forwards to until then. I am officially hyped though!!!

    this game looks interesting. i hope they aren't using the Fully Customizeable Guns as a gimmick to cover up poor gameplay.

    and for those of you who didn't know about that, look in the screenshots. YOU PAINT YOUR OWN GUN FOR CHRISTS SAKE!!
