LocoRoco going Cocoreccho

New quirky creature title--billed as an "interactive screensaver"--coming exclusively to the PlayStation Network.

More LocoRoco goodness is incoming from Sony--this time on to the PlayStation Network. The latest title in the LocoRoco series will be called LocoRoco Cocoreccho in the UK, instead of its Japanese name, Oiedeyo LocoRoco! Boo Boo Cocoreccho! The game will be available from September 20 on the PlayStation Network.

The original LocoRoco game, created by Japanese game designer Tsutomu Kouno and producer Kazuhito Miyaki, was first released in Europe in June 2006 on the PlayStation Portable. The player moved the creatures called LocoRoco through the game using the L and R buttons to tilt the screen, joining them together and splitting them apart again to access different areas. A mobile version of the game has also been spotted in Japan. For more info on LocoRoco, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

The game will cost £1.99 in the UK--international pricing has yet to be confirmed, but will likely be in the region of $4 for the US.

"I'm not against the SIXAXIS, I'm just against the manditory use of it; I think it should be an option if anything, not required."

I feel the same way about the Wiimote, but in the case of the 6axis, it isn't mandatory. Plenty of games don't use it.

Just as Mr_Sok says, it's the games that make Six Axis look bad. Take two games that use very similar mechanics, Super Rub-a-Dub & flOw. The pace may well have something to do with it, but the latter uses Six Axis much better of the two. Loco Roco may well be another that hits the nail.

On a slightly different note, has anyone give the LocoRoco video a quick once over from the PSN store? It's coming across a little Lemmings like with a twist, I could be wrong though. Find Locos & guide them to the exit. At one point in the video there's a Loco count of almost 150 to babysit. Interesting.

I think the people that made LocoRoco like to "smoko the wacko tobbaco" if you know what I'm sayin!

I always thought SIXAXIS would be perfect for a game like LocoRoco.

SIXAXIS HATERS BEGONE! This game would be great with SIXAXIS controls. Its not SIXAXIS that sucks, its games like lair that make bad use of them.

yes, I too hope there's no manditory SIXAXIS controls, and I also hope it comes to North America soon, and I'm little worried this game will be super short, as it's likely going to be $4

That's a contradiction if ever there was one. I guess every game is an interactive screen saver in this context then... And there's me thinking a screen saver is a program that ran while you wasn't interacting with your device.

this game isnt like the 1st one u dont tilt the world to move the LOCo Rocos instead you use a butterfly to wake up and move the Loco Roco that way. the butterfly is ordering the Loco Roco which explains th ejp title Ordieyo ranslates to Order so if you really loved the first game be foreworned this one is different.

psn? SIXAXIS? That'll be great, if worked out properly, 'cause that's been the problem with SIXAXIS features

using the tilting sixaxis instead of the l and r buttons? would be more fun that way.

$5 for an "interactive screensaver"? I love LocoRoco, but I'll pass. It's been a year since the PSP game came out and this is all they could come up with for PSN?

If they had just taken the original game, made it HD and threw in Sixaxis controls I would've bought it. Get with it Sony.

    Screensaver? Are you freakin serious?

Love the game on the PSP, I am still playing through it. Can't believe they would half-ass it with a stupid screensaver. BOOO!!

    Make a damn sequel!!
