I'm seeing a lot of people with this problem, it has even happened to me. Don't worry it's very easy to fix.

It appears Rockstar is tampering with something ( my guess is they are trying to fix the online servers ) and while doing so created another problem that is affecting a large majority of players. (And yes this issue is effecting people who only want to get on to play single player)

The solution to this problem is rather simple DO NOT DELETE YOUR GAME SAVE FILES/DATA UTILITY FOLDER. The last thing you want to happen is lose your 20+ hour game play data due to this issue.

Now all you gotta do to get the game to load up properly again is just SIGN OUT of the PSN and restart the game WHILE DISCONNECTED from the PSN and it will load up fine. It's as simple as that. If you still can't load up and it just stays at the loading screen forever try turning off the Information Board on your PS3 and starting the game while disconnected from the PSN.

And no i'm not talking about the freezing issue while in game your screen freezes and completely stops. I'm talking about this very recent issue that just started happening where the game wont start for many people and just sits at the loading screen forever trying to start from where you last left off.

Worked for me. I just disconnected the lan cable from the back of my ps3 and I can now get past the loading screen. I have been playing for the last two hours with no problems.

The problem is because so many people have the game and so many people connect to the servers = crash.

This is why disabling your network/internet connection works as a solution.

    Rockstar should patch this soon.

Its rediculous that this even occurs.

Right now its impossible to play multiplayer for me at all.
Add this to the fact that the game also freezes...

Should have been tested much better. The **** will hit the fan once more people start to finish single player.

What also sucks is that the people who don't even want to play online can't even load up the game to play single player without having to do these steps. Normally when online is broken I feel like playing single player until the online mode is fixed ( especially in new games like this ) but as of right now with this issue a lot of people can't even play single player without doing these steps.

I don't know, I kinda want to test it to find out. But if it freezes again as soon as I connect I don't want to worry about anything getting damaged. Everything is built so sensitive now haha.... that or i'm just paranoid.

I just tried to load the game again while connected to PSN and it still freezes. still not fixed yet...

You would think with a issue that won't even let you play single player would be fixed asap.

Mine only froze on the loading screen twice before, and each time I just restarted and it worked fine, I didn't need to disconnect from anything...

as far as i know, all known cases of freezing at loading screen (real life friends) are all fixed by signing out of psn when loading. I believe you can sign in after the loading is complete?
