id have to say the tenkaiche series was better then the budakai series, having the 3D movement brought dbz gaming to a new level, but the simple character select is a let down id like to see one with a story/experience point sceme so you can level up your favorite dbz character. this video looks good

most of the fans that ever played dragon ball z says budakai 3 was the best..and i have to agree..the tenkaiche series was horrible..the btaale style is bad..on budakai was great..2D Fight but 3D charcters..i dont think they evn read wat fans have to say..they keep makin wt they wna make and not think of the fans..maybe thats y dragon ball z went done hill since tenkaichi came out...

Burst Limit was not much fun...I just THIS played the demo nothing special. knowing me I'll still probably get it but cmon! They can make this series so much better and ACTUALLY compete with other fighters out there.

sign... whats the point, they all look alike, this one just look like the one on PS2... Bandai really know how to rake in the money with the same game, same graphic, same system

  • Frazierboi

The game looks Alright to me.
Hell If the other Tenkaiichi games on the playstation 2 can hold its own.
I know this one can while on the PS3.
Plus never judge game by its graphic or gameplay.
I mean just play the game. Jeez. I'm talking about all games on every system.

Looks boring compared to DBZ Budokai 3. When they started the Tenkaichi series they just lost everything...

  • FlameRiser

    Posted Oct 24, 2009 3:25 pm PT

this is messed! budokai 3 was the best fighting game ever and made me proud to be a dbz fan then tenckaichi came along and made me wonna shoot myself and now this! there is so much potential for dbz games but all these crappy developpers are giving dbz a bad reputation. If the guys that made SF4 had the dbz license im sure that if would own! but like the crash bandicoot series, it looks like this will be a dissapointment 4 everyone

Pretty nice! The game looks great and it plays just like Tenkaichi, the controls seem a little off, it just didn't move as smooth as Tenkaichi 2. But i only played it for about 30mins or so... i love DBZ so i will be getting this one when it comes out!

i am really really startin to get tired of dbz games just the same old same old every time. What the developers should really do to is to make one where there isnt just fighting they should make it kind of like the naruto game on xbox where you could run around and free roam where ever you want. But instead you should be able to fly whenever you want. They should make a proper dragonball saga aswell and dragonball gt saga instead of just breaking it up into short levels. I dont really mind the fighting too much but from the looks of that clip it really sucks. Budokai 3 was the best and they really messd up on tenkaichi 1 anyway im probably gona buy it cos i love dbz

o geeze. i hope dbz's fame doesnt get hurt by this game like how that live action movie dbz evolution raped the crap out of dragonball z.

I say Budokai 3 and Tenkaichi 2 were the best games...and of course Legends for PSone. People are really starting to lose track / not care about this series anymore though...as a fan, it's great to see a next gen game Tenkaichi-style...but as a person, this is rreeeaallly making me yawn...

I wonder if they will let u do the Super Kaio-Ken Attack. For those of u who don't know that's when Goku uses Kaio-Ken while in Super Saiyan. He used it against Pikon once during a tournament. YEAH DBZ FOR LIFE YALL!!!

A Budokai Tenkaichi with current-gen's potential... Let's hope they don't screw this up. Anyways, the demo is out in mid October... (15th for Europe, not sure for North America)

Make the game with the budokai tenkaichi 3 style gameplay with all of the free roaming but make a fighting system simular to budokai 3 fix the camera problem keep all ingame transformations and fusions bring back the story mode from the original budokai 1 yall know what im talking about every character from dragon ball dragon ball z dragon ball gt should be playible including all seven shadow dragons sin shenron should have the power to absorb all seven dragon balls and have all the shadow dragons power cell and buu have the power to absorb destructive environments a must these are just some of my the things that i would use if i made a dragon ball z game

guys calm down budikai 3 was the best dbz game ever but the thing is he is not playing good and this is just a demo plus they are still working on it. Who knows, maybe they will make it like budikai3.

  • Wej_accept_it

The only good DBZ game was Budokai 3, back on PS2. They made it as a DBZ game, not a conventional fighting game, and it was bloody awesome amazing off tap because of it!!! They need to re-do the concepts of B3 on current gen consoles, not fiddle about with dodgy other ideas

  • Xenoxion

    Posted Sep 29, 2009 11:05 am PT

I'm glad they made another game like tenkaichi ,cause that's my favorite.

  • onebadgs400

    Posted Sep 29, 2009 8:16 am PT

These guys forgot that what made Budokai 3 good was the combos and actually going ssj during a match. NOT BUTTON MASHING. You had to really stratagize. I will never forget the first time I blew up the stage on my friend. Come on guys.

  • onebadgs400

    Posted Sep 29, 2009 8:04 am PT

Well this is another dbz game that will suck. These developers are lazy and not listening to the fans. Budokai 3 was the best DBZ ever. This stupid sideways camera is crap and even in this demo your opponent is lost. Let me know when you guys decide to make another dbz until then I will be playing naruto ninja storm on my ps3.

  • vecsim89

    Posted Sep 27, 2009 12:25 am PT

    Oh and @ZekeVIII,
in Tenkaichi 1, 2, 3 you could level SSJ while fighting, but you still have the option to pick it from the character selection screen.

  • vecsim89

    Posted Sep 27, 2009 12:23 am PT

Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and 3 are in my opinion the best DBZ games in the whole franchise. It had good boss fights and heaps of characters in both. The Budokai series were and are a little disappointing to me, since you couldn't go around the setting, but they still are solid. My cousins raised me to love DBZ and I still do. I reckon the TV series rocked.

  • Beawolf

    Posted Sep 22, 2009 4:46 am PT

I think Budokai 3 was the best one out of all the DBZ fighters.

  • rinks361

    Posted Sep 21, 2009 7:38 pm PT

This looks like it will be decent. At least better than Burst Limit. I think the Tenkaichi really encompasses what Dragon Ball Z was about: epic fights that take place both on land and in air, fast paced combat, and of course, environmental destruction on a mass level. Budokai had none of that. It was like a 3D version of the old Dragon Ball Z games for Super Nintendo. Slow, boring, confined. The special moves were so close quartered that it felt like a Street Fighter game. I'm glad to see they are going back to the core of what the DBZ universe really is instead of shoveling out a watered down rehash of an older PS2 version just with amped up graphics (see also Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm).

  • rianbrito

    Posted Sep 16, 2009 6:23 pm PT

i hope they come up with at least a good variety of characters and unique combos and stuff...burst limit kinda disappointed me with such mediocre presentation on those aspects

  • azino

    Posted Sep 15, 2009 8:55 pm PT

I absolutely love DBZ and even I know that this game will not get higher than a 7.0 . The same recycled crap from Tenkaichi. Update Budokai 3 with an animated story mode and put online and work out some other kinks and you've got fighting game of the year material. Budokai 3 with graphics to rival that of Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm would really set the bar high.

  • dvlboi43

    Posted Sep 15, 2009 1:21 pm PT

i also think burst limit was A BIT of a step back in the right direction, but it was still nowhere near budokai 3

  • dvlboi43

    Posted Sep 15, 2009 1:19 pm PT

no no no no no. i really think that the best dbz games were the original budokai series. i have budokai 3 and its still a lot of fun to play. they just went at it from completely the wrong angle with the tenkaichi series, but never seemed to realize that. Budokai 3 had some room for improvement, and i think that there was still more to build on from that. but this is just (in my opinion) completely the wrong way to go about making a dbz game.

  • ZekeVIII

    Posted Sep 15, 2009 11:32 am PT

see i like playing these games but i can't remember which one it was but i remember that during gameplay you couldn't turn into SSJ unless you actually selected him before playing a match with your friend. so does anyone know that in this one you can actually select like for example Vegeta and be able to turn SSJ without having to choose that from the main screen?
