THQ Destroying no Humans on PS3

Publisher pulls the plug on Sony version of Sandblast Games' anti-homo sapiens shooter Path of the Furon; 360 edition still on for December 1.

THQ began the year with a substantial realignment of its product portfolio. After delaying much of its early 2008 lineup due to quality concerns, the publisher enacted sweeping cuts to its full-year slate. As part of those strokes, THQ closed a studio and shelved, among other titles, Savage Entertainment's Destroy All Humans: Big Willy Unleashed for Sony's PlayStation 2 and PSP.

With the year rapidly drawing to a close, THQ will be ending 2008 on much the same note. Today, THQ confirmed that development has halted on the PlayStation 3 edition of Sandblast's Destroy All Humans!: Path of the Furon. Sandblast Games was among the five internal studios THQ shuttered earlier this month.

In a statement issued to Shacknews, THQ said "development issues" were the primary reason in its decision to shelve the PS3 version.

Destroy All Humans!: Path of the Furon for the Xbox 360 is still expected to arrive on retail shelves December 1. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

    Well this story is total BS! I just picked up my copy for the PS3 yesterday and was playing it until the wee hours of the morning!!

    NO ONE WORRY IF U LIVE IN AUS this game is gonna be realeased on ps3 in aus in 12 of the 2 2009

    DAH! POTF was one of the games on my list to get for my sister. We got the PS3 last year when we heard that the game was coming out on the PS3 and XboX systems. Developmental problems? Yeah right! Sounds like they were handed money at the last minute and or they were just too dumb

    What a bunch of BS to get PS3 owners excited for a release then cancel the game less than a week from the release? I have all the DAH for the ps2 and they are great games. NOw we have a void in the series and it's just not right for PS3 owners. I'm sick of the deathbox360 and now this game is an exclusive for that POS system? It should not be released at all then. Give me a break, the Xbox is garbage and even the owners of the 360 know that, so why release a game on a system that dies within a year? THQ made a big mistake and I hope this title gets released eventually on the PS3. Tweek it or whatever you gotta do to get it out to the system that will be around longer than the Sh*tbox360. What a joke, really. Totally bummed.

    HA! i knew it would come soon. this is the first step in the ps3's downfall. all you ps3 boys, dont think this is the only game to be cancelled on ps3 only. i promise you more to come.

    This announcement came out way too late to say that they had "development" issues. Why not six months into production rather than a week before release?

    its the same as gta4... it would have been a far better game if the develpoper didnt waste so much time trying to get it near identical to the 360's... Imagine if that extra half a year we had to wait was used implementing all the things in the older gtas....

    its seems like they were just lazy considering its still out for europe but not in america however i live in the uk so yay. but even then not much of a problem because i could of got it on my 360 but then would i even buy it? that is the question.
