    I might add, that on a 5.1 sound system, this audio experience is unlike anything one could experience before.

    Dead Space is the game that Doom 3 should have been. This is simply one of these games that remain in your mind and after a while you might get the urge to re-insert it into your cd drive.
    The immersiveness and production values were unparalleled in 2008 and I completely agree that it was the best title to hit the shelves in this year.
    Actually, can't wait for Dead Space 2.

    This was by far the best game of 2008! I played through twice and still love it. The sound design, the shadows and lighting, the movement and controls were all very well done. So far, I haven't been able to find a game that sucks you in and scares you like this one did. I can't wait for the follow up coming out next year. Good job, EA.

    it was the best game that ea had to offer in 08 and was the best game scary and fun but takes forever to beat cause there is something new almost every time

    I downloaded the demo, but quit before I even saw any enemies. Maybe I'm a coward, or maybe this game is just SCARY!

    Fantastic game!! Loved how it combined sci fi horror like Event Horizon and The Thing.
    A must have!

    there is no way that I can complete this game. it is the scariest I ever played, WHAT A GAME!!!

    just like my experience with RE4, the sequences with the regenerating alien scared the $hit out of me the most. both are great games and id hate to compare, but hats off to RE4 for starting that third person over the shoulder pov which is an excellent way to experience an atmospheric game. awesome games like gears of war and dead space can attest to that.

    CQB looks real and great, but it does barely any damage. Great game, got all the achievments for it.

    I actually liked the close quarters fighting. The guys only an engineer and it made the game more realistic. It also forced you to turn each corner carefully

    The best horror game that i ever played but it took me alot of time to finish it because i was really affraid to even touch the game.

    for someone that never played this game before you cant tell how good it is...until yo do play it.
    it's the most perfect game in any way: story, graphics, combat, sound effects, physics. I'm a hardcore gamer, and i tried to find bugs, or glitches or anything to pick on, but there are not mistakes in this game, i could not find a single error or something badly designed...JUST PERFECT 10!

    this isnt inspired or copied off of doom, this is inspired off the movie "Alien".

    Just because 2 games involve walking through passageways and into rooms killing aliens, that doesn't mean dead space copied off of doom, what other environment would there be on a space mining station? jungle? snow? nope.

    Got all the achievments on xbox 360....personally i prefer bioshock, but this is still a well made game that deserves a lot of credit.

    i just got the game 5 days ago, and its really fun...but not too scary.(but then again im playing on easy with maximum brightness.) great game thought.

    I complain about all the bad reviews gamespot gives, so when the do it right i feel i must say so to be fair, and this was an excellent review for an excellent game.
