Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI coming to US

Koei confirms the latest PS2 installment in its long-running historical warfare sim is headed for North America next February.

Koei evidently knows the value of a little romance around Valentine's Day. The publisher today announced that it will release Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI for the PlayStation 2 in North America on February 6, just in time for couples that share a love of strategic warfare sims.

The 11th installment in the series based on a 14th-century novel chronicling a turbulent time in Chinese history, Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI brings a graphic overhaul for the series. In addition to using real-time 3D animation for duels and other events in the game, Koei has used a style of art intended to evoke Chinese ink paintings.

Originally released for the PC in Japan back in March, the game was ported to the PS2 with additional scenarios included. Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI is rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older.

ROTK all the way! its pretty much the strategy side to DW games. cant wait to see if maybe in the future Koei make an RTS DW like rome total war or lotr bfme style gameplay, imagine playing lubu in the midst of 10000 peons XD love it but yeah ROTK is a great series and so is DW Koei just lost there way a bit on DW6

I loved this series since ROT3K V. I have tried playing the original ROT3K in the NES and ROT3K IV in the SNES, too.

I wish to see more RPG elements in the future installments, where if you do not want to be a ruler, but just a general, you can roam inside cities just like regular RPGs, go inside the rooms of the officers and interact with them... Not just.menus, submenus, and more sub-submenus.

Don't get me wrong, ROT3K is great!

I too am a HUGE ROT3K fan. I have all the American released versions. I loved each and everyone of them. My personal favorite is part 4. I am not a big fan of the 1 player versions, but none the less, I love them. I think that this game is the most under rated game ever. As for the people who hate it. Maybe an easier game to understand is for you. Like Mario Brothers. Keep these games for the average to above average intelligent people. Keep up KOEI on the remarkable games.

Honestly The RoTK just gets better each time. I've been playing it since firewall and loved it more and more each time they came out with the next one. For the idiot who said DW was better...get a clue. DW SUCKS now and I'm personally tired of them making it the SAME way. The only becon of hope I've ever seen with the game was Dynasty Warriors 4: Empires ( and 5 empires wasn't too shabby either)...

RoTK is pretty much the definite game to play back in the days - - Though I prefer DW. Im more of an action/adventure than tactics guy. I read the entire RoTK and I have to say, you have to be a fan to keep buying into the series.

well there are a few pics of this up on GameKult.com, it looks very pleasing. I know that Koei has been doing Rot3K games since the early Famicom days in Japan. You can bet they will continue to have the same high level of storytelling & strategy in this newest game. I want to see the PS3 version in 2007! Link to pics

I wish they would do another RPG like Saiyuki... If there's enough story for more Rot3Ks, then there also should be some left for a new RPG.

Wow, haha, so many losers who've never played a ROT3K game seem to know what Koei should do wit the series. That's swell, but the people who look forward to it dont care. We also dont whine about games we have no interest in or no desire to play. Let's see if some people here can attempt that and leave there "romance omg that's emo uguys" to yourself.

Jesus christ...Between this and Dynasty Warriors...Koei, stop crapping out bad installments of a dead series. At least Dynasty Warriors was good at first but Romance of the Three Kingdoms...ugg...

FREAKIN A! I love these games, keep em comin Koei. And to the rest of you all, have you even played the last few? 7 and 8 were similar but 9 and 10 were completely different. Just shut up and go back to playing Halo and Madden and let us smart people celebrate.

Know what you're talking about before you say something.
