Romance of Three Kingdoms 11 wooing gamers on September 28

The 11th San Goku Shi title gets a PS2 port half a year after the PC version but will command a princely price.

Koei announced Friday that San Goku Shi 11, which debuted for PCs March 17, is being ported to the Sony PlayStation 2, with the Japanese version scheduled for release September 28.

The PS2 port will preserve the PC version's integrated 3D map, which lets players administer their empires and engage in battles from a single map. Three original scenarios for the Sou Sou campaign and two unlockable historical scenarios will be added to the PS2 edition.

However, as is often the case with strategy titles in Japan, Romance of Three Kingdoms will be priced significantly higher than average. The regular edition will retail for 9,240 yen (US $79.40) while the "Premium Box" edition, containing undisclosed extras, will set the aspiring general back 11,340 yen (US $97.50).

I'm glad this series isn't dead yet. But I wonder how many more sequels it will take for them to tell the Romance of the Three Kingdom story perfectly. The series are still missing many smaller events and more accurate historical mode. Not to mention army formation. Also I hope they bring back RTK8's warlord position for the players. Well, for this version I heard we can only play as ruler so perhapse in RTK12...

HELL YES! Now I can stop searching around for X, I have been trading in my PS2 versions of ROTK forever.

Stopped at IX. I really wish they would release it for the PC though. The saving and loading on the PS2 is slow and the screen size is bleh, being a TV for RTS I would rather have it 1600x1200 on my monitor.

Hey, if amps can go to 11, why not games?
What? The fanboys have never seen Spinal Tap?
I love ROTK. I still own and play ROTK 2 for my SNES. I love that game.
    LOVE IT.
    Turn it up to 11!

Great series and the latest is no exception. Now give me a new action game gased on this already. How about Shin Sangoku Musou 5 for one or two of next gen system Koei. I'm patiently waiting an announcement.

People talk about milking a franchise...

yet they ignore their precious Final Fantasy. I guess it's exempt from their own rules? ....I think not.

Don't get me wrong, I like Final Fantasy a LOT, but here's a lesson to learn: When a game gets so many remakes/sequels, that means it's well received, and has made profit in the past. Just because Cloud/Sephiroth isn't in the game/series, doesn't make it any less cool. ....besides, these heroes are actually based off real life stories.

With that being said, I like the DW series more than RotK series -- just due to the length of time it takes to play the RotK games.

I've never been that huge of fan of the series, although I have played a couple, and the sheer fact this is number eleven sparks somewhat an interest.
