NCAA beating leads to stabbing

After playing head-to-head match in NCAA Football game, loser skewers winner with a 10-inch butcher knife.

College football fans are hardcore, but they apparently don't get much more hardcore than 34-year-old James Wilson. The real-life rivalry between Tennessee and Auburn was being played out digitally in Athens, Alabama, when superfan Wilson took the Tigers' loss personally, reports the Associated Press. At some point in the evening on Saturday night, Wilson entered the bedroom of Lance Borchert, who was on the winning end of the game, and stabbed him in the back with a 10-inch butcher knife. The blade punctured Borchert's lung, and Borchert was airlifted to a local hospital. "He went to the hospital with the knife still in his back," Sheriff Mike Blakely said of Borchert. Wilson was apprehended later that night. The AP did not specify which NCAA Football game was being played, nor did it mention specifically what console was being used, referring to the system only as a "PlayStation."

    why didnt he give him a wet willie or something? stabbing someone in the back because you lost in a game is the dumbest ting i have ever heard that guy deserves to go to jail for life

    College football makes me crazy also. Make no sense to me why so many people give a crap about it when only 25% of the US population has actually finished college.

    Well this is just great news... Thompson is going to eat this up. I'm thinking the same thing as REELDIE, he didn't stab the guy right after the game - I'm thinking this was about more than just a video game match.

    like to know the whole story...maybe the guy kicked his a@! at football and later that night he(the loser) found pictures of his girlfriend with him(the winner) and thats what sent him crazy.

    hahaha...AP wouldnt specify which NCAA game was being played. hmmm this could be a major crack in our case boys if we find this out. the guy who won was probably like, "ha you noob, you f'ing **** at this game, go die". you may continue to deteriorate now society.

    What a moron. I'm glad that its not a violent game that was "responsible" this time. What now, will Hilary Clinton push to outlaw competition in general, or just competitive games? Ridiculous...competition makes you stronger. Morons that stab somebody over a video game would do it over something wlse too, it doesn't take a game to make you unstable

    You're an idiot. What does Sonys domination this last gen have to do with this guy stabbing someone else over a game? OMG SONY RULES BECAUSE SOMEONE STABBED SOMEONE ELSE BECAUSE THEY LOST IN A PS2 GAME!!!

    They could have just as easily been playing SSBM or Halo. It doesnt matter what they were playing.

    I suck at nothing, I said there were many reasons why I hate sports and your lame insults don't bother me. Just so you know "you hate sports because you are not good at them" is a pretty old and weak insult. Sports suck! And that is my opinion; there is no need for you people to start acting like immature 10 year olds. Second video games are not responsible for this violence; sports and the people obsessed with it are to blame.
