Slugfest 2003 tops sales

Midway's arcade-style baseball game was the best-selling PlayStation 2 baseball game in 2002.

Midway has announced that MLB Slugfest 2002 was the top-selling baseball game for the PlayStation 2 in 2002. The game saw the bulk of its sales in July 2002, with Slugfest outselling other PlayStation 2 baseball games by a two-to-one ratio. "It is incredible to have become the best-selling PlayStation 2 baseball video game the first year we have been on the market," said Helene Sheeler, vice president of marketing at Midway. "We will continue to build off this success and deliver what gamers have come to expect of the MLB Slugfest franchise."
