Slugfest 2003 PS2 ships
Midway ships its arcade-style baseball game to retailers in North America.
Midway has announced that it has shipped the PlayStation 2 version of MLB Slugfest 2003, its arcade-style baseball game. Developed by the same team behind NFL Blitz, Slugfest features all the teams, stadiums, and players from the major leagues. In the game, players will be able to perform a variety of acrobatic moves, use turbo pitches and throws, and connect for powerful hits.
"This is a game that will be equally enjoyed by longtime fans of the sport as well as action gamers," said Helene Sheeler, vice president of marketing, Midway. "MLB Slugfest 2003 features real MLB action along with over-the-top gameplay like no other baseball video game on the market."
The GameCube and Xbox versions of Slugfest are scheduled for release later this summer.
