ArturoC7, i grew up with the home pc's and the first consoles(ie..Atari 2600) and iv'e been pc gaming since the Timex 2K(1979 home pc..lol), but the sad fact is that there are more blockbuster exclusives on the consoles, then the pc has by a longshot(mmo's are really what's keeping pc gaming alive). One more thing, many pc gamers have hurt themselves bigtime, because once pirating games got big to the point of really hurting sale numbers, then many once exclusives pc developers have went multi-platform and some have gone console only..or console first(ie..Rockstar with GTA:IV and it's X360 exclusive DLC's). And while i rarely play the PS3(my 360 gets the brunt of my gaming), the demo for MLB: The Show(Sony exclusive), is one of the best baseball games ever done.

I'm getting mixed reviews, I still love to play my MVP 2004 and I regret not having bought 2005, had I known it was the last of it's kind! Now I might have to shell out the $80.00 it now cost because I don't think 2K9 is going to even come close! How about "The Show" on PC?

I dont want EA to get the rights for it until they give up rights to NFL and NCAA Basketball (or running up the price for rights). Madden has been a on downward slope since EA just basically updates roster and maybe a touch here or there. Madden 09 was horrible. And NCAA Basketball (aka March Madness) was horrible compared to College Hoops. I think 2K should keep the rights until EA learns to get consumer to buy their product based on quality, not because it is the only thing available.

bignick217 EA didn't ditch baseball they lost the rights to it. 2K sports bought the rights from mlb. I think the contract is up either after this year or next year and I hope EA gets the rights back because MVP were the best baseball games made but I think the The Show 09 will be close.

It seems I was under the wrong impression. EA didn't ditch PC gamers for baseball. They ditched baseball altogether. I thought MLB The Show was made by EA. It's actually made by Sony. My Bad. I can't wait for MLB 2K9 to come out. I just wanted to make it clear that I had realised my mistake before someone decided to flame me for a simple mistake.

I loved MVP 2005. I still play it. In fact, it's the game I've been using to get my friends in Scotland interested in baseball. But EA ditched PC gamers for baseball games a long time ago. Plus, nobody in britain sells baseball games in britain. Even though I know a lot of people in britain who like it. I'm having to get this game imported from the states. And considering it's the only proper baseball game thats come out for the PC for 4 years by any company, I don't have much choice. But considering I've never played a 2K baseball game, I'm going to reserve judgement until I play it. This one looks really good base on "all" of the vids I've watched and articles I've read. I'm not just referring to graphics (which do look gorgeous). I'm mainly referring to the gameplay elements. The only concern I have, based on the vids I've seen is when playing "local" 2-player (2 players - 1 PC), when pitching, I would prefer the ball icon disappear (like in MVP 2005) so I can play in a way where my friend doesn't know what pitch I'm going to throw nor where in the box I'm aiming. Anyway, my hopes are high for this game and looking forward to playing as my Cubs at Wrigley.

who cares what it looks like? Its all about GAMEPLAY!! The gameplay for 2k has been bad. Not realistic baseball sim. Played the show. Much better ALL AROUND game. feels like baseball. 2k not even close. If you like MVP 2005 you would like the very simular MLB The Show. oh and personally i think the graphics on the show are better anyhow. not that the graphics matter as much as some people seem to go on about. Give me a FUN game over graphics anyday.

Hmmm, just from that video alone, graphics look quite a bit better than its predecessor... I'm telling you, I was a bit disappointed in those graphics, but these look really nice for a Wii game. That's my only regret in having a Wii is the graphics are sub-par with other systems.
