Heading into last year's Super Bowl matchup between the New England Patriots and New York Giants, Electronic Arts trumpeted the official Madden NFL 08 prediction that the Pats would win, completing the first 19-0 undefeated season in league history. To support its pick, EA emphasized that the Madden NFL series had correctly picked the Super Bowl winner five years running.

EA is once again touting a Super Bowl pick, but this year's press release makes no mention of past performance. Focusing squarely on this year's Super Bowl, EA's Madden NFL 09 sim has sided with the Pittsburgh Steelers, suggesting that the Steel Curtain will emerge victorious when they play the Arizona Cardinals in Tampa Bay.

Despite the playoff success of the Cardinals' quarterback Kurt Warner and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, the simulated game had Arizona building a running game around Edgerrin James, who nabbed a pair of virtual touchdowns. Meanwhile, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger connected on three touchdown strikes to earn the game's MVP award. The simulated game had the Steelers up 21-7 at the half, but a late comeback by the Cardinals pushed the final score to a respectably nail-biting 28-24.

Go Browns? Who writes go Browns on a super bowl message board???

Keep in mind - since the Browns have been kind enough to grace our prescence in the NFL again back in 1999... the Steelers are a whopping 17-1 against them...

Stick to basketball - I'm sure Lebron makes it exciting at least.

All i can say is "what ever" lol! And the steelers front line have been doing good. From what i seen in the eagles game. There front line did a good job against the cards. And the steelers are much better then the eagles front line. And the steelers did a great job against baltimore. All i can tell you is good luck! The cards are going to need it!

Agreed. Sounds cliche, but accurate: Defense and run offense wins championships. That said, Steelers should win, but cannot use Whisenhunt's playbook, as the Raiders did with former coach Gruden in Super Bowl XXXVII, or have critical turnovers.

Go Cards all the way! No one is still respecting them or giving them the credit they truly deserve. I like the steelers too, but I feel that Cards will be carrying the weight of 98 percent football fan doubters who are looking for the Steelers to rout in this game. With the way big Ben's pass protection has been going, he won't be holding that ball for long with the way the Cards will be comin after him. Final score Cards; 33 Steelers: 27. I just think the Cards will be WAY more jacked up for this game..especially their OFFENSE!

First Madden the game, next... Big Blue, the super-computer from IBM will predict all championship games for us! Mwuahahahahahah!!!!

These little predictions are fun, just like a horoscope, but I take them just as seriously... and because personally I like seeing the underdog win... =P

The cards may put up a fight. But in the end the steelers should come out on top. The cards are ranked with a 19th Offense and 16th Defense. They maybe getting lucky here and there. But the cards are no were nere a "caliber team" as the pittspurgh steelers are. The steelers Defense is ranked 1st and Offense is ranked 2ed. And right now the steelers Defense is playing better then it ever has. If you cant score you can win! Plain and simple!
    ********************************************************************************************************
Arizona's offense is ranked 4th and the Steelers offense is ranked 22nd. At least you bumped Arizona's 19th ranked defense up 3 spots. I do agree with you though, "If you can't score you can win!" Steeler fan or not, you can't argue with that logic. Pittsburgh will probably win though, but I think the Cardinal's have a great chance!
