Arena Football covered

Electronic Arts signs Colorado Crush quarterback John Dutton as cover athlete for Arena Football.

Even though the Arena Football League is still miles behind the National Football League, the game still has its stars. John Dutton, a former pigskin tosser at the University of Nevada is one of the sports' brightest, and will be immortalized as the first cover athlete for the first game of Electronic Arts' Arena Football franchise.

Dutton led the Crush to the 2005 championship, and he has a history of winning. The QB also earned some finger hardware in 2002 when he was named the MVP of ArenaBowl XVI as the play-caller for the San Jose SaberCats.

Arena Football is set for a February 7 release on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The game re-creates the high-octane action of the AFL, with eight-on-eight matchups, a smaller field of play, and high scoring. For more information, check out GameSpot's scouting report.

for everyone who has asked what arena football is, it is exactly what it sounds like. a football game being played in an arena. with a 50 yard field and barriers along the sidelines. this is a game that must be played at 4 am with your drinking buddies, yay

why would they even put an unknown athlete on the cover of an unknown sport it doesnt make sense maybe they should have made a cover kinda of showing what the game would be like its ok on like madden or any other high profile sports game because everyone knows the sport and the athletes you may not think the cover of a game plays a big role in its sales but o believe me it does especially on a sports game that is not as popular as some other ones

I'm surprised they're even making a game, I figured they locked down the AFL rights to sit on it, so their competitors couldn't make any kind of football game based on any league.

Arena Football ?? What's next, Pee-Wee Football ?? Geezous EA, instead of coming up with lame football games no one wants to play, how about making the existing franchises better (eg : NHL, Madden).

i think they should make a high school football game, however, make it either seperate parts, or many several discs, this way to make it so you CAN play your favorite high school team.

EA can waste their time making this game.... it won't sell. I predict a total flop. EA can buy all they want, but forcing a game because THEY (EA) make it won't help sales.

If you guys haven't watched Arena Football before, you should. They show a game on NBC every Sunday during the season... Which starts around the Superbowl and ends in June. For me, it's football year round. And AFL is much faster paced and Higher scoring. And you can see them live for cheap. I have season tickets to my home team. 2nd row in the endzone... $150. I don't even buy sports games, and I despise EA b/c all they do is charge everyone $50 for the same crap from last year with in extra bell or so, but I may get this just to support the AFL. Face it, they aren't going anywhere any time soon. They're in their 20th season.

NCAA 2006 is the best FB game. EA has put out lately. They should focus more on Madden.

Arena football is great. The Crush are great.

Instead of knocking the game, perhaps we should all wait until it comes out to make judgement. You never know, it could be better than NFL.

Wow a football game with a white dude on it. The day has come where EA realized white people played football to, of course it would be Arena Football. Maybe 4 or 10 people will buy this...lol.
